PetSet

PetSet PetSet is dedicated to alleviating the homelessness and suffering of companion animals.

By providing critical funds and working together with strategic community partners, we seek to end homelessness and alleviate suffering for our companion animals. Our goal is to help those who are “in the trenches” every day rescuing, spaying, neutering, fostering, adopting and protecting Houston’s animals. We believe that the animal homelessness crisis in our community is a solvable problem. Please Note - we are not a rescue, and this is not a page for cross-posting or networking pets.

Last week, our community came together for the State of Animal Welfare and important conversations about the future of animals across Houston.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, and a special thank you to our moderator, Dr. Roberta Westbrook, and our panelists for lending their expertise and leadership to this conversation.

Progress starts when we come together. 🐾

Animal homelessness is more than an animal welfare issue. It is a public health, safety, and quality of life issue, and it is solvable.

PetSet’s State of Animal Welfare Conference brought leaders across animal welfare, public health, law enforcement, business, and local government together to discuss how we build a stronger Houston for people and animals.

Thank you to PetSet Lead Veterinarian Dr. Roberta Westbrook for moderating, alongside panelists Dr. Leah Barton, Sean Teare, and Michael Heckman. We’re also grateful to Mayor John Whitmire and Precinct 3 Commissioner Tom Ramsey for sharing the importance of continued leadership and collaboration.

The problem is solvable. It takes all of us.
