BPSOS-Houston offers the following programs in our community:
1) Survivor Services: Case Management & Legal Assistance for victims of Domestic Violence, Human Trafficking, or Sexual Assault; assistance with shelter location, safety planning, obtaining health or government assistance, protective orders, legal issues, etc.
2) Legal Services Center: free legal advice and representation to
low-income clients who qualify on family law, immigration, and estate matters; Nominal fee services also available to clients
3) Health Awareness Prevention Program: outreach and education on health issues prevalent to the API population; Breast exams and mammogram screenings, health fairs, blood, glucose, cholesterol checks in partnership with Christus Health; mobile health clinics can be scheduled in rural areas to provide these services; Cancer support group meetings
4) Health Care Coverage Assistance: assistance with applying for health care coverage under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) or government assistance programs (Medicaid, Medicare, CHIP, Gold Card)
5) Citizenship and Naturalization Program: assistance with Naturalization applications (monthly workshops, in office weekly, mobile clinics), ESL & Civics classes provided during the week in the evenings and on Saturdays; assistance with applying for USCIS fee waivers for those who qualify
