Visiting Dang Thi Ngoc Han and Dang Thi B**h Ngoc

Their parents have got to seek jobs in other places which are far from their hometown, providing for all three Dang’s sisters and their grandmom.
The Dangs’ mother died, passing the three sisters on to their grandmother’s custody while Dangs’ father kept working far from home.
Besides school time, the kids help their grandmom feed the pigs, chickens and take care of their small garden from which they could earn a bare living by selling fresh vegetables.

Visiting our scholars Vuong Chi Tuong and Vuong Thi Vy

Vy is the first daughter of a poor minority’s family in Lao Cai. Her father passed away; her mother got married the second time, leaving Vy and Tuong(Vy’s brother) with their decrepit old grandmother. Their house is empty without any valuable items beside the children’s honorable school certificates. Compared to Vy’s peers, Vy is in a more difficult situation: taking care of her grandmother and her brother while catching up with school. Thus, she has no time for playing around as other children. A woeful childhood.

Knowing the dire strait of the family, Vy and Tuong always put their education in their first priority and achieve excellent academic goals.
