October Chapter Meeting - PINK OUT for Breast Cancer Awareness!

Dear GCAPT family,
As we continue traveling the road together this year, we are reminded that “All Roads Lead to GCAPT” is about more than the destinations we reach—it is about the people we meet, the connections we make, and the ways we support one another along the way.
October brings with it an important opportunity to pause our journey and recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
This month, we honor those who have faced breast cancer, celebrate survivors, remember those we have lost, and stand alongside the individuals and families whose lives have been touched by this disease.
In pupil transportation, we spend our days focused on getting others safely to their destinations. We know that every journey matters, and sometimes the most important journeys are the ones that happen beyond the route, beyond the bus, and beyond the workplace.
This October, our road is one of awareness, support, and hope.
We invite you to join us for our October GCAPT monthly meeting as we come together not only as transportation professionals, but as a community that cares about the people traveling alongside us.

We encourage everyone to join us in recognizing Breast Cancer Awareness Month by wearing pink as we show our support and help bring awareness to a cause that has impacted so many of our families, friends, coworkers, and communities. Additionally, if you yourself are a survivor of cancer of ANY type, we'd be honored if you could send us a picture of you so that you can be recognized at our meeting during a slideshow presentation.
As we continue this year's journey, let’s remember:
The road may look different for each of us, but we don't have to travel it alone.
That is the spirit of GCAPT.
From professional development and networking to friendship, encouragement, and shared experiences, GCAPT provides a place where the roads of our profession intersect. Each meeting gives us another opportunity to connect, learn, and support one another.
So, wherever your road has taken you this year, we hope it leads you back to GCAPT.

Our "Kickoff" meeting for the school year was a great success...filled with familiar faces, great food, fellowship and fun! A HUGE thank you to Lisa Davidson Hernandez and her amazing team at Klein ISD for being such a gracious host, as well as the Klein Forest High School Band & Airforce JROTC for thrilling us with their talents! We were able to welcome some fresh faces to our Executive Committee as well...thank you to all who served last year and we are grateful for the ones filling their shoes. We also heard from some very influential voice in our industry with the Director's Panel Discussion. Thank you to all the Directors who participated and imparted their knowledge and wisdom on us! And of course, where would we be without our vendor sponsors! Shoutout to Edulog, HopSkipDrive, and Longhorn Bus Sales for their support for our September meeting!

Next stop on the road to success will be Sheldon ISD on Tuesday, October 13th, 2026. Stay tuned for more details!

Gulf Coast family! We are only ONE DAY AWAY from our official "kickoff" meeting for the school year, and we are so excited to see everyone for what promises to be an outstanding year! We've got some amazing news to share, great food to eat, great prizes to win and a PHENOMENAL lineup of guests for us to hear from, so make sure you are there! We will be at the Klein Multipurpose center at 7500 F.M. 2920, Klein, TX. 77379. Once you park, enter through the front doors & to the left into the Arena! Also, in the spirit of the kickoff to football season, we welcome everyone to wear their favorite football jerseys to the meeting! We'll begin promptly at 10:00am, so make sure you arrive early to find your seat. Membership is currently open to all who wish to register, and if you're already are a member, please feel free to bring someone who isn't, or who is interested in joining. ALL transportation personnel are welcome, whether you are a director, supervisor, trainer, driver, attendant or office staff. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to a member of the Executive Committee! See you there!

That’s a wrap on the 2026-27 school year, and what a year it was! We hosted our final meeting of the year yesterday at the Klein ISD Multipurpose Center and boasted nearly 200 in attendance! Thank you to John Fergerson, Lisa Hernandez and the entire Klein ISD team for their hospitality and for providing our delicious lunch! Another huge shoutout to our vendor sponsors for our May meeting SMART tag and Southern Tire Mart! Last, but not least, help us welcome our incoming Executive Committee members for the 2026-27 school year:
