Swim for a Cure: Bears Against Brain Cancer
On Tuesday May 13th, with the help of KPark Swim Coach Bear Branch Swim Team swam laps during practice to raise money for MD Anderson!

Now even the youngest kids can make a big splash.

Children up to age 11 can participate by splashing a short distance along the beach. Parents are welcome to join in and must accompany non-swimmers or those under age 6. It's a fun way for the whole family to make waves to fight cancer!

Registration is $25 and each registered participant receives a Swim Across America shirt and swim cap.

On Tuesday May 13th, with the help of KPark Swim Coach John Dissinger, BBST will be swimming laps during practice to raise money for MD Anderson! The event will take place during practice times.

The Swim Across America Pool Program fundraiser is an easy way for age group, high school, Masters and summer league programs to support the SAA mission.

YOUR IMPACT IN HOUSTON:
Swim Across America - Houston supports cancer research and clinical trials at MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Patients diagnosed with brain tumors known as glioblastomas survive only 15 months on average and only 10 percent of patients live five years post diagnosis. Dr. Sharma will use SAA funds to deploy novel inhibitor drugs to study how these drugs starve glioblastoma cells of energy while sparing non-malignant and immune cells that are also present in the tumors and their surrounding tissue. The SAA funding will generate preliminary data that will enable Dr. Sharma to later secure federal grant funding to further develop this innovative treatment for patients.

There’s plenty of time to sign up and fundraise for MD Anderson! Help us make a real impact in the fight against cancer right here in our community.

Welcome to the Swim Across America - Houston Open Water Swim! Established in 2019, SAA - Houston has raised over $525,000 for our beneficiary: MD Anderson Cancer Center. Thank you for your support of cancer care in Houston.

Each year we are proud to host over 250 swimmers and volunteers, spectators and supporters, as well as Olympians near and far at our charity swim. We are so excited to have you join us for our 8th annual swim at Margaritaville Lake Conroe!

Whether you are a veteran swimmer or you're looking to do your first open water swim, we welcome you to help us "Make Waves to Fight Cancer."
