There's a kind of peace that only comes when you say, “Lord, I’ve done what I can. The rest belongs to You.” This kind of surrender usually comes after we’ve exhausted ourselves trying to manage every possibility. We replay conversations, calculate outcomes, and convince ourselves that if we think hard enough or worry long enough, we can somehow secure the future we want.

But control is a cruel master. It always asks for more and never gives peace in return. Trust begins where control ends. Surrender means admitting that even your best efforts were never what held your life together. You can pray, seek wisdom, and take the next step in front of you without believing everything depends on how perfectly you handle it. You’re not responsible for controlling another person’s heart, forcing a door open, guaranteeing a result, or knowing how the next chapter will unfold.

That belongs to God. There's freedom in finally admitting it. You can be faithful without being frantic. You can prepare without obsessing. You can care deeply without letting fear consume you. You can place something precious in God’s hands and trust that His grip is stronger than yours.

Sometimes peace doesn’t come because the situation changes. Sometimes it comes because you finally stop trying to carry what only God can carry.
