We were honored to have renowned photographer Peter Sanders join us to capture the beauty and humanity of the day. A huge thank you to Peter, his incredible team, and Risala Foundation for connecting us and making this special collaboration possible.

One of the most beautiful moments of the day was witnessing one of our beneficiaries take their shahada, a reminder of how powerful faith, love, and community can be.

Alongside our weekly outreach, we distributed cooling towels to help with the heat, our refreshing Outreach In The Barrio lemonade, hygiene kits, and even phones for two of our beneficiaries in need.

None of this would be possible without the generosity and continued support of our donors and community. Thank you for helping us serve with dignity, compassion, and care every single week. May Allah reward you all abundantly. 🤲

Eid Mubarak from all of us at Outreach In The Barrio. 🌙
This day reminds us of what Prophet Ibrahim (AS) taught us, that true faith is surrender. That everything we have has always been an amanah, a trust from Allah. And that is when we give from that trust sincerely, for His sake, we never truly lose anything. Allah multiplies it.

And this spirit of sacrifice is not only remembered today, it is lived.

Throughout these blessed days, because of your generosity and support, we were able to continue serving our neighbors experiencing homelessness, hunger, and hardship across Houston. Meals were shared, supplies were distributed, people who felt forgotten were reminded that they are seen, valued, and cared for.
As families gather and celebrate today, we also hold in our hearts the neighbors who are still quietly struggling.
The ones we know by name, the ones who may not have heard
“Eid Mubarak” from anyone today.

These 10 days were not a campaign, they were a calling.
And because you answered it:
•People were able to eat.
• Lives were touched.
•Hope was restored.
•Human dignity was protected.

May Allah accept every prayer, every dollar, every tear, and every act of sincerity from all of us during these sacred days.
And may the people we served become witnesses for us on the Day we return to Him. 🧡

Today is Arafah, the most sacred day of the year. The day Allah descends to the lowest heaven. The day more souls are freed from the Fire than any other day.
Before the sun sets, 𝐠𝐢𝐯𝐞

Because this is the day, because generosity on Arafah is generosity at its most powerful, because the people who feed the hungry on Arafah are the people Allah sees.

🕋 Don’t let the greatest day of the year without giving something.

Faith is not only something we speak about.
It is something we live. 🧡

Tonight, there are people across Houston wondering where they will sleep.
Parents struggling to feed their children.
Elderly individuals surviving alone in impossible conditions.

We cannot save everyone.
But we can refuse to look away.

Choosing compassion when it is inconvenient.
Giving when you could hold back.
Showing mercy when the world has become numb.

These blessed days of Dhul Hijjah are not only a time for reflection, they are a chance to respond to the suffering happening right now, in our own city.

Someone is praying for help tonight.
Be the answer. 🤍

Tomorrow night, our team goes out.
Because that’s what we do.

Jumu’ah Mubarak. 🕌

Right now, millions of our brothers and sisters are standing together on the plains of Arafah. One Ummah. One purpose.

Hajj reminds us that we belong to each other. And part of that belonging means showing up for the most vulnerable among us, not just in Makkah, but right here in Houston.

We are Muslim. We are Latino. We are Houston.
And we believe the Ummah extends to every neighbor, regardless of nationality, background, or zip code.

This Sunday night, our team heads out again. Because unity isn’t just something we feel in khutbah, it’s something we live on the streets.

One of the most beautiful parts of our faith is the reminder to care for one another. 🧡
Not just the people in our circles. Not just those who look like us or pray like us. But the stranger on the corner, the neighbor who hasn’t eaten, the person carrying pain silently, hoping someone will notice.
Every Sunday night, our team walks into Houston’s streets, not because it’s easy but because our deen calls us to it.
Because compassion isn’t just a feeling, it’s a choice.
And sometimes the greatest act of compassion is simply showing up.
This Dhul Hijjah, let your worship extend beyond yourself.

The most beloved days to Allah have arrived. 🌙

The Prophet ﷺ said: “There are no days in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” -Bukhari

While millions around the world prepare for Hajj, many of our neighbors right here in Houston are still struggling to survive, to find a hot meal, to feel like someone sees them.

This Dhul Hijjah, Outreach In The Barrio is on the streets of Houston every Sunday, providing meals, hygiene supplies, and dignity to our unhoused neighbors.

In case of emergencies we want to be ready to be in the front line.

Because ibadah isn’t only in the masjid. Sometimes it looks like showing up on a Sunday night in Downtown Houston with a warm plate of food.

📌 Swipe to see how your sadaqah moves this Dhul Hijjah.
🧡 $50 provides 18 hot meals delivered with dignity.
