💜 Domestic Violence Awareness Month
Domestic violence does not discriminate against. It can affect anyone, women, men, and people of every age, background, and circumstance. And every survivor deserves to be heard, believed, and supported.
This month, COHAP OUTREACH CORPORATION is shining a light on the realities of domestic violence, including the experiences of men who may suffer in silence because of stigma, fear, shame, or the belief that they will not be believed.
Abuse is not always physical. It can include emotional abuse, verbal abuse, intimidation, threats, financial control, isolation, stalking, coercion, and controlling behavior. Recognizing these signs is an important step toward safety.
Asking for help is not a weakness. It is courage.
No one deserves to live in fear, and no survivor should have to face abuse alone.
💜 This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, let’s:
• Believe survivors without judgment
• Break the stigma around seeking help
• Learn the warning signs of abuse
• Support friends, family members, and colleagues who may be struggling
• Encourage safe access to professional and community resources
• Help create relationships and communities built on safety, dignity, and respect
