Some friends got to see a test run of this week as we finished our rehearsals! As you can see, seating is limited, so don’t wait to reserve your tickets! All tickets are free or pay what you can. Our opening performances tomorrow, July 11, are in partnership with The Ensemble Theatre. San Jacinto College: Secret Menu (Assistant Sound Designer). HITS Theatre: Alice by Heart (Costume Designer). You’ve got a ticket for the Dreamship! The Dream Captains welcome you aboard for a journey fueled by dreams and filled with music, sound, and other senses. But can we really power our journey with the dreams of others? The Dreamship might get stranded when you least expect it – and we must beware of the Unknown Creatures from the Wild Beyond.

Brave Little Company’s Wildest Dreams is an original work of music theatre for children aged 4-8 and their families, created specifically for them on the themes of dreams, freedom, and diaspora.

For the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, hear the voices that have challenged the United States to live up to revolutionary ideals.

Join Brave Little Company for our annual partnership with Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens (the house museum of The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston) as BLC artists perform a reading of the Declaration of Independence, along with writings about liberty by Frederick Douglass, Frances Ellen Watkins Harper, Abraham Lincoln, Emma Lazarus, James Weldon Johnson, and more.

Bayou Bend's FREE annual festival features an extravaganza of Americana, with performers, crafts, and activities for all ages, and refreshments.

DESHAE LASHAWN is a Houston based actor, writer, and director, who takes pride in using her creativity as ARTivism. Select credits include: Brave Little Company & Driven Theater Company: American Myths (Washington). STAGES: It’s a Wonderful Life: a Live Radio Play, the ripple, the wave that carried me home. Fade to Black: Johnny B. Goode. The Ensemble: Don’t Worry, W***y! Strange Bird Immersive: The Man From Beyond. The Emerald Theater: Drunk Shakespeare, Drunk Dracula. Main Street TY: Sherlock Holmes and the Mystery of the Crowned Jewel, Stuart Little, Beauty and the Beast.

MARA McGHEE loves helping young creatives find their pathways and their stories. She frequently works with theatres who focuses on working with both the young and the young at heart. She can currently be seen in Catastrophic Theatre’s Tamarie Cooper’s Greatest Hits: Volume 3. Other acting credits include Katy Perry Candy Darling Mary Magdalene, Another Ding Dang Tamarie Show, Speeding Motorcycle, Tooth & Tail, Call Me Ann, Incredible Darling, Hair, Suddenly Last Summer, The Colored Museum, Home: A Musical X-File Case S4E2 and [title of show]. She is the cofounder and former Artistic Director of All In Productions, located and thriving in Milwaukee, WI. Favorite directing credits include The Addams Family Musical, Angel Street (Gaslight), This Murder Was Staged, Stuart Little, Once Upon A Wolf, Mystery at Greenfingers, Gym Class Heroes, Little Shop of Horrors, A Behanding in Spokane, and Desire Is Death. She is a member of Just US, Houston’s Premiere all-black woman improvisation group.

NY'EMIA EUNIQUE RODGERS-EVANS was born in Milwaukee. She is a senior Theatre major with a concentration in Performance and a minor in Music at Texas Southern University. Her Theatre credits include The Color Purple, Emotions Anonymous, Brothers Sisters Husbands and Wives, Attic Grace, and You Are Cordially Invited to Sit In. She received a “Best Supporting Actress” award for her performance as Squeak in The Color Purple. Ny’emia is a member of Alpha Psi Omega.

Afsaneh Aayani is a sought-after, award-winning scenic designer, puppeteer, puppet maker, mask maker, voice actress, and artist with over 15 years of industry experience. Now based in Houston, she began her artistic journey in Iran where she developed her skills as a puppeteer and puppet maker, performed as a voice actor on television, and built her foundation as an artist. She completed her Bachelors in Puppetry from the Art University of Tehran and shortly thereafter performed in festivals internationally including in China, Poland, and Sri Lanka.

She earned her Masters of Fine Arts in Scenic Design from the University of Houston in 2020. She has been engaged in exciting work around Houston including scenic design, costume design, props master, puppet and mask making, and puppet instructing. She has extensive regional design credits. She is a featured artist at Meow Wolf Houston. Previous Brave Little Company collaborations include Winter of the Snow Queen (a co-production with Stages); Wooden O: An Interactive Shakespeare Adventure for ages 3-6, Missing from the Museum, and THE BIG “US” PROJECT (2021). www.afsanehaayani.com
