Yesterday’s event at the Manoa Heritage Center was a fun experience: our hosts Kanoa and Nicki shared story and led us in harvesting sweet potatoes and eggplant, as well as removing invasive plants and trimming other native plants. Post Oahu storm cleanup and catchup. We sent groups of volunteers on 4 occasions to help with cleanup in the Waialua and Haleiwa areas. Out of respect for those who lost so much and for their privacy, we only have general pictures here prior to deployment to specific locations. Last Saturday’s event at UH Manoa Kanewai Lo’i. Part of a larger group of super volunteers. Great experience learning traditional Hawaiian practices done on sacred grounds. Shared story and a great meal as well!
