First Corinthians 15:33 warns that company can shape character. This does not mean abandoning people who need love. It means recognizing who is being permitted to counsel, normalize and direct your life.

Be more like kids

God often uses relationships and partnerships to help us steward what He has placed inside us. Some assignments were never meant to be carried alone.

But partnership isn’t simply about finding people who like you, agree with you, or make you comfortable.

It’s about alignment.

The right people can strengthen your weaknesses, sharpen your vision, challenge your thinking, open doors, carry weight with you, and help you become who God is calling you to be.

But discernment matters.

Not everyone who has access to you is assigned to you.

Some relationships accelerate what God is doing in your life.
Some slow you down.
Some challenge you in healthy ways.
Some constantly pull you away from your purpose.
Some help you carry the assignment.
Others make the assignment heavier than God intended it to be.

And sometimes the person slowing you down isn’t necessarily a bad person, they may simply not be the right person for this season or assignment.

That’s why we need wisdom, not just connection.

Don’t only ask, “Who can help me?”

Ask:

“Who is God connecting me with?”
“Who strengthens what God is building in me?”
“Who can I build with in alignment with the assignment?”
“Who accelerates growth, and who consistently pulls me away from it?”

You don’t need a crowd.

You need the right people, in the right season, moving in the right direction.

Pray for discernment not just opportunity.
