The mill was closed down for many years, but has been reopened in 2023 as a venue/community center. It is a fully functional mill, but it's not being used as a mill at this time but a venue where people can gather. At one point it was used as a restaurant, and there is a commercial kitchen in the restaurant area.

The Cane Creek Grist Mill was completed in 1999. The Mill is three stories tall with a wooden flume that carries the water over a 14′ water wheel. We also have a secondary backup method of turning our stone grinders.

We are proud to have restored stone grinders that were manufactured in the late 1800’s, which we use to grind whole grain corn and wheat into meal and flour. We also make several other products such as Speckled Corn Grits, Polenta and Cracked Wheat.

My wife and I built this mill to insure that the old method of processing grain into a food product will be preserved.

The Mill is located in Lewis County, Tennessee along the side of Cane Creek on Cane Creek Road. Take Hwy. 48 North from Hohenwald, Tn. Approximately four miles from Hohenwald will be Cane Creek Road. Turn left on Cane Creek Road and you will find the Mill one mile down on the right side of Cane Creek Road
