Monday is our Buyout Rescue Mission.

🚨 We Have Their Photos! Now We Need to Save Them!
These are 16 of the 20 horses.
For days, we've been telling you that we have the opportunity to rescue 20 horses this Monday.
Now we can show you who we're fighting for.

Look at them.
Some are thin.
Some clearly need more help than others.
Some may have medical needs we won't fully understand until they're safely at Horse Plus and examined by our team.
But every single one of them has something in common:
On Monday, they have a chance to get out.
And we have a chance to make that happen.

But we need your help to say YES to all 20.
We have been raising every dollar we can for this Buyout Rescue Mission, and so many of you have already stepped forward.
But we're not quite there yet.
And now that we've seen their faces, the thought of having enough funding for some of them just isn't good enough.

These aren't stock photos.
These aren't horses from a rescue mission years ago.
These are the actual horses we are preparing to rescue Monday:
The skinny horse standing in the mud.
The little chestnut with the white face.
The horses still wearing numbers because, right now, that's how they're being identified.

They don't know that an entire community of people is fighting for them.
They don't know trailers are being prepared.
They don't know our Equine Team is ready.
They don't know that on Monday, everything could change.

🚨Payton and Lakota, from our Equine Team, have an urgent ask!
We are running out of time.

Monday is our August Buyout Rescue Mission, and 20 horses are waiting for us.
We have been pushing hard to raise the funding to save every one of them. We’ve made progress—but we still have a gap to close.
Tonight, two members of our Equine Team wanted to speak directly to you.

Payton, our Equine Associate, and Lakota, our Equine Adoption Coordinator, are asking for your help.

These are two of the people who will be there for these horses after the rescue.
Payton will help care for them as they settle into Horse Plus.
Lakota will help them move toward the ultimate goal of rescue: a safe, loving home of their own.
But none of that can happen until we get these horses on Monday.
And that's where we need you.
We want all 20.

We don't want Monday to come knowing we only have enough funding for some of them.
We don't want to look at a horse that needs us and wonder whether there's enough money left in the Rescue Fund to say yes.

Take a good look at her.

She is one of the 20 horses we have the opportunity to rescue on Monday, August 31st.
She appears thin. Her body shows that she could use good nutrition and care. But right now, we don't know everything she's been through or everything she may need.

What we do know is that we have an opportunity to change what happens next.
On Monday, we are trying to rescue 20 horses through our August Buyout Rescue Mission.
We have been fundraising all week to make this rescue possible, and we've made lots of progress.

But we still don't have enough funding to say YES to all 20.
And when I look at this horse, that's what keeps going through my mind:
What if she's one we can't afford to say yes to?
We don't want to make that decision!

We don't want to stand there Monday with horses in front of us and determine who gets a place on our trailer based on how much money we were able to raise.
We want to save her.
And we want to save the other 19 horses alongside her.

Our average cost is approximately $1,000 per horse to rescue, transport, complete their initial intake and medical care, and begin providing everything they need once they're safe.
Maybe you can't give $1,000.
That's okay!
Ten people giving $100 can help fund another horse.
Twenty people giving $50 can do the same!

It doesn't take one person doing everything. It takes enough people deciding that this horse is worth saving.

Monday is almost here, and we still have work to do.
On August 31st, we're planning to rescue 20 horses and bring them to Horse Plus.
We've made significant progress toward funding this rescue, but we are not there yet.
And we need your help.

Our Equine Manager, Garrick, wanted to speak directly to you about these horses, what it takes to bring them into our shelter, and why your support right now matters so much.

Garrick and our Equine Team are the people who will be standing there when those trailer doors open Monday.
They'll unload these horses.
They'll evaluate each one.
They'll make sure they're fed and comfortable.
Each horse will go through our intake process.
And from that moment forward, our team takes responsibility for whatever each horse needs.

But before Garrick and his team can care for these horses, we have to get the horses here.
That's where we need you.
Our goal is not to show up Monday and rescue as many as the remaining money allows.
Our goal is to rescue ALL 20.

We are halfway there.
On Monday, August 31st, we have the opportunity to rescue 20 horses.
Right now, we've raised enough to fund approximately half of this rescue.
That means we can say YES to 10 horses.
But there are 20 waiting for us.

Below, in these pictures, are some of them!
Look at their faces.

These are not horses we're hoping to find someday. These are horses we have the opportunity to help This Monday.
We know where they are.
We know when we can get them.
Our team is preparing!

What we don't have yet is enough funding to say yes to all 20.
That's the situation we're facing right now.
It costs approximately $1,000 per horse to rescue them, transport them to safety, complete their extensive intake process, provide initial medical care, and begin meeting their individual needs.
We've made it halfway.

Now we urgently need to fund the other half.
Because when Monday comes, we don't want to stand there looking at 20 horses and have to decide which 10 we can afford to save.

Here is Horse Shelter Heroes Season 7 Episode 33!

In this episode, Garrick and the team walk us through the challenges of running the shelter in the extreme summer heat, sharing the essential care and precautions needed to keep the equines safe and healthy. Lynn and Jayden take us on a tour through the newly up and running Spay and Neuter Clinic, from the dog kennels to the cat room, the journey from animals in need of a second chance to happy, lovable pets is a fascinating one!

Meanwhile, the Horse Plus Media team deliver packages to team members and surprise them with your donations that are needed for shelter operations. Training remains a key part of preparing horses for adoption. Trey works with a new horse in the round pen, building a foundation of trust and patience. In addition, Lakota helps give new horses their boosters, setting them up for a healthier future.

And, of course, one of the most rewarding parts of the journey is watching horses find their forever homes! With adoption appointments underway, Twix, Teheya, and baby Asteroid Moon each get their chance to ride off into the sunset with their new families.

The horses in this video came to us during last month's Buyout Rescue Mission.
Today, they're safe at Horse Plus.
They're eating. They're healing. They're gaining strength. They're standing in a pasture with their heads down in the grass, surrounded by other horses, without a clue how close their lives came to looking very different.

They're getting to just be horses again!

This is what happens after the rescue trailer pulls away.
And on Monday, August 31st, we want to do it again!

We have the opportunity to rescue 20 more horses:
Twenty horses that could soon be standing in these same pastures.

But first, we have to get them here!
Our August Buyout Rescue Mission is happening Monday, August 31st, and we urgently need help funding it!

It costs us approximately $1,000 per horse to rescue, transport, complete their extensive intake process, provide initial medical care, and begin meeting whatever needs we discover once they're safe.

For 20 horses, that's a big undertaking.

🚨It's happening!🚨
On Monday, August 31st, we are going to rescue 20 horses.
For the past several days, we've been showing you some of the horses in front of us. We've told you that our August Buyout Rescue Missions were coming together.
Now we have the plan set for the first of multiple missions in the next few weeks.
20 horses. Monday, August 31st.
And between now and then, we need to raise the funding to make it happen.

The video above shows you what goes into these rescue missions and introduces you to some of the people who make them happen.
But everything you see in that video starts with one thing:
Having the resources to say YES!

When we commit to rescuing a horse, we're not just paying to get that horse out of danger.
We're committing to the trailer that brings them to safety. Their extensive intake process. Veterinary care. Farrier care. Feed. Rehabilitation. Training. And everything that horse needs until they're ready for the next chapter of their life.

That's why we estimate approximately $1,000 for every horse we rescue.
And on that Monday, we want to say YES 20 times!

That means this weekend matters!
We cannot wait until late next week and hope the money is there.
We need the funding BEFORE the rescue happens.

There are 20 horses whose futures could look completely different just over a week from now.
Instead of being caught in the uncertainty of the slaughter pipeline, they could be stepping off our trailers at Horse Plus.

These aren't stock photos. These aren't horses from a rescue we completed months ago.
These are horses in front of us RIGHT NOW!
Several are painfully thin. Their ribs are showing. Their bodies tell you enough about what they've been through.
And right now, we have an opportunity to change what happens to them next!

We are working on our August Buyout Rescue Missions, and we urgently need to raise the funding to get as many horses as possible out of these situations and into safety.

We need your help NOW!

Once we commit to a horse, we're committing to everything that comes with saving that life: getting them out, transporting them to safety, completing their intake, providing veterinary care, putting groceries in front of them, addressing neglected feet, and giving them whatever else they need to recover.

For some, that road may be relatively simple.
For horses in conditions like these, it may take months.
But first, we have to get them out.

Our average cost to rescue a horse and begin providing that care is approximately $1,000.
