The Box 51 Emergency Support Unit (ESU) is an organization made up of volunteers with-in Lewis County Tennessee, that will serve in a support role for the public safety agencies of our County, by providing hydration and snacks on scenes.

It is with a heavy heart that I report the passing of Lt. Darin Pasold. Darin left this world at 2:07 this morning due to complications from Covid 19. Arrangements will be later and posted. Please keep Darins family and his fire family in your prayers.

Box 51 is here to serve as a support unit to all public safety within Lewis County, and surrounding as requested. We provide a range of services including but not limited to, Fire Department Rehab and Canteen services on working structure fire, as well on scenes that any public safety personnel will be invested for an extended period of time. We assist with Fire Department member accountability, and insure the safety and reconditioning of the emergency personnel. We are provide a warming or cooling station for them, as well the survivors of a fire or disaster. We developing community partnerships to provide shelter services during a time of disaster. We are partnered up with The High Forest Amateur Radio club to provide emergency auxiliary communications in the event of a communication failure. These are just a few things we offer at no cost to the communities we serve. We are solely funding by donations.

We are an independent nonprofit organization made up of volunteers who provide a variety of services to the public safety agencies within and surrounding Lewis County. Primarily we serve as a rehab unit for the fire department, but we are available for all public safety workers. We provide our responders with hydration and nutrition during working structure fires, and other scenes as requested by the incident commander. The services we provide are at no cost to the public safety departments nor the tax payers of Lewis County. We are solely funded by donations, and community support.
