Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.  I'm participating in ALS United Greater New York’s Walk ALS. You know this cause is very personal to me. I lost my best friend of 16 years,  Robert Tryon, to this terrible disease.

Why do we walk?

We walk because his memory is worth it. You never move on from love that strong — he’s with us in our hearts always.

I got to spend 16 years with a person who loved me more than anything, and who loved my family with all his heart too. He helped everyone. He made us laugh. There are reminders of him everywhere. He took care of us.

He drove my mom around when she couldn’t drive. He spent Thanksgiving with my grandma so she wouldn’t be alone. He gave his second bedroom to my dad during COVID. He made my mom hot chocolate whenever she wanted it. He renovated our damaged bathroom to keep us safe. He redid my sister’s dangerous steps. He fixed everyone in the family’s pool. He helped my uncle with hard projects because he was young, skilled, and strong. He even bought 'just because' gifts for him too. After driving all day for work, he still drove me to and from Armonk when I wasn’t feeling well enough. He bought me random presents all the time. He wrote me love notes almost every day that he went to work. He gave to everyone’s charities. He would do anything for me. And I love him. We said we were soulmates, and I still feel his soul with me. Though time passes, it doesn’t diminish the loss of such an amazing heart.

Even if you didn't know Rob, this makes me feel good to keep his spirit alive and give back to a charity that helped him. I know it's a yearly ask, but I think about it, would you still want people to talk about you, remember you and honor you after you pass? Just because he's gone 3 years doesn't mean we forget about his presence on this earth and the tragic, unexpected diagnosis that took him from us. This is the best way to cherish the time we had and have— giving back and helping others.

Donate, donate, donate!! The Walk ALS - ALS United Greater New York is October 19 on the Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park . We have to Strike out ALS!! And, Lets go Yankees!! Maybe if you donate it will bring the Yankees luck to win 3 in a row!! I know Rob is up there rooting hard for that.
