Deuce rolled into New York on October 10th, and in just four days he went from shy newcomer to my loyal little shadow. He’s a 1–2 year old terrier mix (maybe some hound, maybe some spaniel, the jury’s still out) and a full-grown 30 pounds, which he’s convinced makes him a lap dog. He’s curious, loyal, a little goofy, and his favorite hobby by far is cuddling. He’s happy to see you when you come home without bouncing off the walls, and he’s just as happy with a good walk as he is with a lazy afternoon on the couch.
Deuce takes trust seriously. He’s cautious around new people and gets nervous in crowds, but once he decides you’re his person, he’s all in. Watching him open up has been the best part of fostering him. He’d do best in a calm, quiet home, and a yard would be a bonus, but an apartment works too. He gets along with other dogs. He’s house-trained, crate-trained, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He’s quiet in the car and good on a leash . He doesn’t know many commands yet, so he’s ready to learn from you. If you want a loving sidekick to make every evening a little cozier, Deuce is the one for you.
