Attitude is everything; join us! Bite Me Cancer is a 501(c) 3 organization. We know the researchers and can monitor their progress which is quite an honor.

Our 2 main goals are: (1) to help teenagers with all cancers across the country in their battle with all cancers through the Teen Support Bag program to give support/inspiration and (2) to directly fund research grants for thyroid cancer. Our Teen Support Bags are distributed (for free) to teenagers battling all cancers in hospitals across the country. Accomplishments as of June 2022: We have shipped out almost 9,800 bags to teenagers in every state and DC through almost 180 hospital partners. We have also directly funded 9 thyroid cancer research grants, with our 10th being the focus to raise money in 2022.

After a year of Covid, we continued to put Teen Support Bags together by using masks and putting families together in different parts of the large conference room. What a surreal time! Donna (in pink) was our co-chair of the Teen Support Committee (and she still is!).

Two weeks from today is The Final Toast, our last w**e dinner fundraiser for Bite Me Cancer. We are so grateful for all the support over 16 years and are very much looking forward to our community coming together one last time. Funds raised at this event will support our college scholarship program for teenagers with cancer. This program will go on past our closure through a few wonderful partnerships that will keep the Bite Me Cancer Scholarship alive! In honor of the first home game tonight, we are sharing a few of our favorite pics from those games where we were able to enjoy a donated corporate suite and invite families who had teens dealing with cancer. Each time, a very special experience for all! (Go Caps tonight!)

This photo features Coach Tom Coughlin, former head coach of the New York Giants! Nikki, our founder, and her parents had the incredible opportunity to meet Coach Coughlin, some of his family, and several Giants players when they visited the Giants Training Facility for the annual ice cream social hosted by the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund for families of children battling cancer.

Even more special was the connection between our organizations: the Tom Coughlin Jay Fund also distributed Bite Me Cancer Teen Support Bags to teen cancer patients in New York and Florida.

What an exciting and unforgettable experience for the Ferraro family — and a wonderful reminder of the impact that organizations can make when they come together to support teens and families facing cancer.

💛 Don’t let September be the end of your awareness of childhood cancer.

Childhood Cancer Awareness Month is coming to a close, but children with cancer need our attention, support and hope all year long.

Thousands of children and teens are diagnosed with cancer each year. Every number represents a child—a son, daughter, sibling, grandchild or friend—and a family facing a journey they never expected.

We need more research to better understand childhood cancers and develop more effective treatments with fewer long-term effects. So as September ends, please remember these children. Talk about childhood cancer. Share information. Support organizations working to help kids and families. And keep the need for research in the spotlight.

💛 September may end. Their need for hope does not.💛

This photo is of a generous family who began helping us with lemonade stands over a few weeks, which eventually resulted in over $1,000 raised. Then the family started hosting fundraisers in their home and raised thousands of dollars for Bite Me Cancer. The mom had been diagnosed with thyroid cancer years before we met her, but then her daughter was diagnosed with thyroid cancer only a few years after they were raising funds for us! Both are doing great, but what a surreal experience for them! ( You may notice or original colorful logo that we used in the first few years of having the foundation!) 💚

A few weeks ago, our food tasting committee gathered at Westwood Country Club in Vienna, VA, to sample and select the delicious food options for our upcoming dinner on October 23.

Let’s just say… there were plenty of amazing choices, and the quality was incredible—as always! 😋 Here’s a little sneak peek at some of the salads and main entrée options our committee enjoyed while making the final selections. And yes, there will be a vegetarian option, too!

This fun group was part of a large fundraiser that was held at Lifetime Fitness in Reston, VA. Nikki had a lung biopsy 2 days earlier, and then she was surprised by extended family in this photo (uncles, aunt, cousins, etc.) who drove down from upstate NY to support her and attend this event!💚💚
