Bite Me Cancer Foundation

Bite Me Cancer Foundation Attitude is everything; join us! Bite Me Cancer is a 501(c) 3 organization. We know the researchers and can monitor their progress which is quite an honor.

Our 2 main goals are: (1) to help teenagers with all cancers across the country in their battle with all cancers through the Teen Support Bag program to give support/inspiration and (2) to directly fund research grants for thyroid cancer. Our Teen Support Bags are distributed (for free) to teenagers battling all cancers in hospitals across the country. Accomplishments as of June 2022: We have ship

ped out almost 9,800 bags to teenagers in every state and DC through almost 180 hospital partners. We have also directly funded 9 thyroid cancer research grants, with our 10th being the focus to raise money in 2022.

For Memory Monday, we highlight a unique experience for Nikki, her family, and Bite Me Cancer. Local ABC7 in DC followed Nikki when she delivered our first Teen Support bag to a teenager dealing with cancer at and then invited us to the studio. Years later, Leon Harris spotlighted Nikki as one of Harris' Heroes and did an expanded interview with Nikki which was on the news and is at this link: https://www.bitemecancer.org/teen-support-bags

It's Memory Monday! As mentioned last Monday in our first post for The Final Toast, each Monday we will highlight a special memory from our 16 years as we lead up to our final wine dinner on October 23! We were so grateful that the National Association of Broadcasters donated their Washington Nationals suite to us a number of times so we could invite (for free) many of our cancer families. Some had never attended a professional baseball game. Thank you to Chris Brown for coordinating these awesome events for us!

It's hard to believe, but our upcoming Annual Wine Dinner will be our last.

Our founder, Nikki, has a special message to share about The Final Toast—an evening that will celebrate 16 incredible years of serving teens with cancer and thank the amazing volunteers, sponsors, donors, partners, and friends who made it all possible.

This won't be a goodbye filled with sadness. It will be a celebration of lives touched, memories made, and the incredible impact we've created together.

We would love for you to join us for this unforgettable evening. If you can't attend, please consider making a donation to help us finish our final year of service strong.

Memory Monday! As we count down to our final Wine Dinner on October 23 and our final full year of serving teens with cancer, we'll be sharing special memories each week that helped shape Bite Me Cancer Foundation.

This photo takes us back to June 2010 at our very first Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society. It features our founder, Nikki, and her godfather, Howard who also was dealing with cancer.

Just two months earlier, in April 2010, Nikki had been diagnosed with cancer at only 17 years old. Within days, she was determined to lead a Relay for Life team. After naming her team Bite Me Cancer, an incredible journey began.

At the time, none of us could have imagined that the strength, determination, and hope she showed would inspire the creation of Bite Me Cancer Foundation just a few months later, in September 2010.

What started with one determined teenager became a mission that has touched thousands of teens with cancer across the country. We look forward to sharing more memories each Monday!

Bite Me Cancer is proud to announce the recipients of its inaugural Attitude is Everything Scholarship, a new program established to recognize and support exceptional students who are facing the challenges of cancer while pursuing their educational dreams.

The Attitude is Everything Scholarship was created for graduating high school seniors and current college students from Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C. who are currently battling cancer or have been impacted by cancer. The scholarship celebrates students who have demonstrated resilience, perseverance, courage, and a positive attitude while continuing their education.
