The Lions will again be hosting the hot dog/bratwurst and b**r garden in Food Court #1 at the Fairfax Fall Festival on Saturday.

Do a good deed and buy a b**r/eat a sausage for charity!

Do another - we still need a few volunteers to help out at the b**r garden. Let us know if you can help.

See you Saturday!

What started out as a small market for artisans to display their wares has grown to a festival with more than 400 arts, crafts, information, food & gourmet food vendors, children’s activities, three stages of music and entertainment for all ages.

We had a great meeting - with District Governor Chuck Schwab helping our own Past Council Chair Bill Bartlett induct our newest member: Roberto Valladares! Lion Roberto’s family was on hand to help us celebrate! We also heard from DG Chuck about projects around the state and he recognized our club for a combined 1000+ years of Lions service among our members, presented his pin to PCC Bill and King Lion Jim, and his Spark Award to Lion Joe Rovansek for his work leading club fundraisers and his immediate impact on the club.
It’s GREAT to be a LION!

There’s a Lions Club bench in front of Foster’s Grille in Vienna. One of the many reasons our club enjoys a meal there every now and then. They also support the Lions by donating part of the check every Tuesday to our charity fund. If you’re eating at the Vienna Foster’s Grille, tell them you support the Lions and they’ll donate part of your tab, too.

Lion Gordon discussed the ListenUp! initiative in Virginia. You can help us by donating to our efforts to screen preschool kids for hearing loss. See the link on our webpage.

Hearing reflections from Fairfax Independence Day Parades from former City Council Member Ellie Schmidt - who spent more than 30 years as a volunteer making it happen. She was recognized in 2008 as the parade’s Honorary Grand Marshall while our club’s own Hubert Delaney was so honored in 1992.
