April is Testicular Cancer Awareness Month. It’s a conversation that can feel awkward, but it’s one that saves lives. We wear orchid this month to support the men in our community and spread the word on early detection.

Every great mission has a heartbeat, and ours is our committee. Today on the blog, we’re honoring the legacy of those who have served and introducing the new energy joining our team. It’s a "passing of the torch" fueled by one goal: helping families. Read about our committee shift at the link in bio.

Prevention is a conversation that saves lives. Often, our bodies give us subtle clues long before things get serious—the trick is knowing how to "listen."

For this month’s Mandatory Monthly check-in, here are 3 key signs to keep on your radar for Colorectal and Kidney health:

🔴 1. Changes in Digestion (Colorectal Health)
Don't ignore persistent changes in your bowel habits (like diarrhea or constipation) lasting more than a few days, or any visible blood in the stool.

Pro-Tip: Most doctors recommend starting regular screenings at age 45.

🔴 2. Unexplained Pain or Color (Kidney Health)
Persistent pain in your side or lower back (flank pain) that isn't from an injury is worth a check. Also, watch for blood in the urine, which can make it appear pink or tea-colored.

Prevention Tip: Managing blood pressure and staying hydrated are your kidneys' best friends.

🔴 3. Sudden Weight Loss & Fatigue
Losing weight without trying or feeling "bone-tired" even after a full night’s sleep are common ways the body signals it’s working too hard on the inside.

The Bottom Line: These symptoms are often caused by minor issues, but only a professional can give you the "all clear."

Talk to your doctor. Your health is worth the 60-second read and a quick phone call. 🩺💙

March is Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. While it’s a tough topic, awareness is our strongest tool for early detection. We wear blue this month to honor the fighters and remind our community that no one fights alone.

We want to take a moment to honor a few members of our committee who will be stepping down this year.

For years, these three have been instrumental in so much of what we do. Their dedication isn’t just about the hours they put in; it’s about the heart they brought to every single project. 💜

Tammie, Melanie, and Ma**ca we want to formally recognize you for your years of hard work, your tireless service, and the incredible legacy you continue to build here. Because of your time and effort, we’ve been able to foster vital relationships with local businesses and, most importantly, raise the funds necessary to support families who are fighting this brave fight every day.
