Hispanic Dance Sessions & Hispanic Dance Sessions Dance Group FHSU

Hispanic Dance Sessions & Hispanic Dance Sessions Dance Group FHSU Hispanic Dance Sessions helps promote Hispanic culture and diversity at FHSU and in Hays, KS.

Hispanic Dance Sessions & HDSDG are sponsored by The Flamenco Club FHSU, CAHSS, English & Modern Languages, and the collaboration of the Department of Music. Hola Spanish Club friends & supporters,
We would like to invite you all to the Spanish club at FHSU. The Spanish Club FHSU is a departmental and student organization created for students and people interested in learning more about Hispanic C

ulture. This club helps organize events like Hispanic Dance Sessions (Salsa, Tango, flamenco, Zambra...etc.), so that students, faculty, and the Hays community learn about Hispanic culture and diversity through music, dances, and dancing. The Spanish Club also organizes fundraisers, to help the club get some funding. Most of the members of the Spanish Club are Spanish Majors and Minors in the Spanish Program, but the club welcomes people interested in learning more about Hispanics, and their different cultures. For more information, please contact Dr. Espino-Bravo (club advisor) at [email protected]

One of Spanish Club initiatives is Hispanic Dance Sessions. Our dance sessions are practical, hands-on-learning sessions, which teach dancing steps and dance choreographies using original music from the countries we are teaching about. We teach about the culture, context, and the rich diversity each dance and country provide. Through the dances and music, you will immerse yourself in a specific culture and learn about it. All dances we teach are connected somehow to Hispanic culture, and through Hispanic Dance Sessions, we aim to promote Hispanic culture and diversity at FHSU and in Hays, KS. Sessions will be taught live in CH 122 (Dance Room), and will also be streamed live on ZOOM to make it accessible and inclusive to friends who cannot make it to the campus sessions. All Hispanic Dance Sessions are open to anybody willing to learn about these dances, and are sponsored by Spanish Club FHSU and Modern Languages Department.
