Ever wonder what Academic Booster Club is about...well here is a brief recap. In a nutshell...our goal is to support our students and their academic achievements as well as the amazing teachers and staff that provide the high level education all of our students receive at Hays High School.
What is Hays High School Academic Booster Club (ABC)? The HHS Academic Booster Club is a community of parents and guardians who support the students and the teachers at Hays High School, celebrating their academic achievements throughout the school year. The group is focused on assisting and promoting the academic portion of the Hays High School academic year.
What events does the Academic Booster Club support throughout the school year? Each year the group provides refreshments and other amenities for various academic activities.

Presentation of All-Academic Team at Hays City Shoot Out
Breakfast of Champions (sponsored by Kiwanis Club)
Teacher Appreciation Breakfast
Junior ACT Day
Academic/Athletic Awards Night
Does the Academic Booster Club do any fundraising? Each year the Academic Booster Club raises money for scholarships to support graduating seniors. The group awards $500 scholarships to students based on their academic achievements, school activities, and community service. All donations received go to fund these scholarships to support students’ educational endeavors after they leave Hays High.
Is there an executive board or committees for the Academic Booster Club? The club has the following executive board positions: President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Officers serve one-year terms with an option to be re-elected for multiple terms. ABC has several committees to assist with various projects and activities, allowing members to serve based on their talents. Committees include: Events, Fundraising, Membership, and Scholarships.
Executive Board
President – Plans, coordinates, and oversees monthly meetings for the organization, including making logistical arrangements and publicity. Serves on the HHS Site Council as the ABC representative.
Vice-President – Fills in for the President when absent and assists other officers as needed.
Treasurer – Maintains and balances the checking account and expenses for the Booster Club.
Secretary – Takes minutes at meetings and submits them to the organization for approval.
Committees
Events Committee: Supports and/or coordinates various ABC events.
Fundraising Committee: Coordinates the fundraising efforts of the group by contacting local businesses and community members to donate to scholarships for HHS graduates.
Membership Committee: Promotes membership in the ABC, which may include representing the group at Freshman Orientation, HHS Open House, or other events; promoting the club on social media; etc.
Scholarship Committee: Coordinates the scholarship application process with the HHS counselors; reviews and scores applications to select recipients.
When does the Academic Booster Club meet? Meetings are currently held on the last Wednesday of every month at 5:15pm in the HHS Library.

Hays High Academic Booster Club is committed to supporting and promoting the academic achievements of our HHS Indians. This group raises money to provide scholarships for the students and encourages all students to achieve their highest academic levels.
