Who wants to check out our treasure box?

School’s out… which means your drawers are probably FULL of coloring pages & little masterpieces you don’t know what to do with??

Word has it we have the BEST treasure box in town and we will trade a small prize for your art.

We use this art to decorate nursing home rooms and brighten the days of seniors who don’t get much mail, artwork or visitors.

Bring in 10 completed coloring pages and your child can pick a prize from our treasure box.

📍102 W Stephenson Ave, Harrison
Open weekdays 12–5 PM

Little art makes a BIG impact.

We prefer art on paper, things we can fold if needed. Not glass, ceramics or large framed pieces please. Just the fridge-type art! Ty

Most 10-year-olds are spending their afternoons on tablets.
Harper Somers is spending hers in a care home in Harrison teaching painting classes to seniors.
This was her 2nd class and something changed.
You can see it in her smile.
Confidence. Purpose. Pride.
Not because someone handed her a trophy but because
she walked into a room full of elderly people and made them happy.
And she knows it.
These seniors wait for her now.
They light up when she walks in.
They show her their paintings like little kids.
And Harper?
She’s learning things no classroom can teach.
How to talk to people.
How to lead.
How to care about someone besides herself.
How to walk into a room and make it better.
I think a lot of moms are searching for this exact thing right now.
Not just sports.
Not just screens.
Not just another activity to fill time.
But THIS.
We are so proud of you Harper (and Mom, Kim)

A nursing home in NWA called us recently and said something I can’t stop thinking about.

“We don’t have anything to give our moms for Mother’s Day this year. can you help?”

Just imagine that for a second.

A building full of mothers.
Women who raised kids, packed lunches, worked jobs, paid bills, sat through ballgames and stayed up with sick babies…

…and there was nothing special waiting for them on Mother’s Day.

Over the last 3 weeks, people here in Harrison have helped us deliver hundreds of wishes, Smile Sacks and Mother’s Day gift bags to nursing home seniors across Arkansas. We took care of the moms, dads, aunts..all of them.

Boxes piled up.
Cars packed full.
Kids carrying bags bigger than they were.
Volunteers making trip after trip out of town.
No fancy gifts, just sweet cards, treats trinkets and art from kids.

And because of this community, a whole lot of moms are going to feel remembered this Mother’s Day. All the bags arrived in time. Dads will be smiling too!

That matters more than people realize and we are grateful!

Ty Wanda, Rachel and her big family, Leslie, Kim, Amanda & Robin. Ty to Melody Seigler, Jan Walker and Helen Fish for packing the bags

Did you know this is happening every week inside our Community Center in Harrison, AR?

Kids learning Spanish.
Laughing. Creating.
Making something for a senior.

And then walking into a nursing home to hand it to them.

This is how you raise a different kind of kid.

Adopt a local senior.

We had a BIG list of wishes come in last week and we need help now to get them filled.

Stop by, pick up a list and fulfill 3 small wishes.
Adopt once… or your family can keep the same senior all summer.

They’re asking for simple things most of us grab without thinking.
Here’s a few of their wishes:

• Reese’s peanut butter cups and a Sprite
• squirrel feed to watch outside their window
• a hot pink 2X t-shirt
• sweatpants and an Almond Joy
• chocolate covered cherries and lotion that smells good
• size 8–10 jeans and a Diet Dr Pepper

That’s it. Nothing big. Nothing complicated.

It’s easy. It’s doable.
And it matters more than you’d think.

Stop by and pick up a list. We’re open weekdays 12–5.
(And we are downtown- contact info on flyer)

This is Harper. She’s 10. She’s from Harrison.
And… she just led a painting class in a care home.
She’s been part of our Three Wishes youth program for years now and kids like this don’t stay on the sidelines for long. They jump in and go.
Two generations that were never supposed to be this far apart…
sitting at the same table again.
And it works.
Every single time.
❤️
If you are looking for hands-on volunteer experiences for your child, we’ve got them.

Right now (closer than you think)
there is a nursing home senior sitting alone.
Wrapped up in one of Ellie’s blankets
And for a minute…
it doesn’t feel quite as heavy.
This is Ellie.
If you’ve ever seen one of the blankets we deliver into nursing homes…
there’s a good chance it came from her hands.
She’s made hundreds over the years.
And she’s still going.
Ellie is a senior herself.
But nothing slows her down, not even a little!!!
She takes donated yarn (and you all have been incredibly generous lately ❤️)
and turns it into something that matters more than most people realize.
Because these are SO much more than just blankets.
Thank you Ellie
