If you should ever be a Mini Grant recipient, here’s a tip that can help make the reimbursement process go more smoothly.
Be sure to keep copies of all project documentation, including invoices, receipts, canceled checks, credit card receipts, and other proof of payment.
State reimbursement programs require documentation showing that project expenses have been paid before grant funds can be released. Keeping these records organized throughout your project can help prevent delays when it’s time to request reimbursement.
We’re grateful that state grant programs require this level of documentation and transparency. These safeguards help ensure public funds are used as intended and help maintain the integrity of the program for years to come.
As we work through our first Mini Grant cycle, we’re learning alongside our applicants and sharing what we learn to help make future rounds even smoother.
Thank you to all of our grant recipients for your patience and partnership throughout the process.
