The support we received yesterday after our post was absolutely amazing and we can’t thank everyone enough for sharing, reaching out, and helping get the word out!

Since sharing our post, we’ve already been able to connect with some incredible companies who are interested in helping with the Made to Play buildout. We’re extremely excited about some of the conversations we’ve had and can’t wait to share more with you soon!

We’ll still be reaching out, asking, and looking for ways to make this space come to life, but yesterday showed us just how many people are willing to rally behind this project, and we’re incredibly grateful for that support.

We’re also planning some fun events for this fall, so be on the lookout for more information! And next week, we’ll have an exciting transformation happening to the building facade. If you're driving through downtown next week, be sure to keep an eye out.

We don’t love making posts like this, but we want to be honest about where we’re at.

We’ve been reaching out to businesses, contractors, suppliers, manufacturers, and individuals about donating materials for the Made to Play buildout. We’ve visited in person, made a lot of calls, sent a lot of messages, followed up and so far we haven’t secured a single materials donation. We’ve even been left on read more times than we’d like to admit.

We’d be lying if we said that wasn’t discouraging but we’re not giving up. We believe in this space, we believe in what it will mean for local kids and families.

If you own a business, know a contractor or supplier, or have a connection that could help us source materials, we’d love an introduction. And if you don’t, sharing this post may be just as valuable.

We’re going to keep working until we get there, because we know this is worth it!

Work hard, play hard: play cafe coming to town

Whenever there is talk of a new business coming to Harrison, everyone speculates about what it might be and what they hope it is. Some hope for a new kind of restaurant, others want a new form of entertainment. For parents of young children, one wish is for something to do for and with the kids. However, what if there was a place that aspired to be all of those things?

We’re ready to start building the play gym! 🎉🔨

We’re looking for local contractors, suppliers, hardware stores, big box stores, and businesses who may be willing to donate materials from our wish list. The sooner we receive materials, the sooner we can get started and bring this space to life for children and families in our community.

We’re also still accepting monetary donations to help cover construction costs and purchase any materials we aren’t able to receive through donations.

Every contribution gets us one step closer, and we can't thank our community enough for the support that we've received so far😊
