It’s only 2 weeks until our ICE CREAM SOCIAL and game night on Saturday August 8th. Notice that the time is at 6:00 pm to allow you to finish your eventing meal and come see us for dessert. We will be making homemade ice cream throughout the evening but will also have extra frozen in between tubs. There’s no charge for the event, but donations are accepted, and feel free to bring your favorite topping to share.

Games will be played beginning around 7:00 pm. We plan to start off with a few games of bingo, but we will have Yahtzee, dominoes and some kids games. There will be small prizes for winners.

There will also be some silent auction items including quilts, baby quilts, a handmade bear by June and other items. The auction will close at 8:00 pm.
Please come and be prepared for a good time.

A big Thank You to everyone who attended and/or helped with the Appreciation Dinner for the Hill Top VFD last week. Everything, particularly the fried fish, was delicious and the entertainment from Jake and Les was a wonderful surprise. Awards were given to three first responders who have donated the most hours so far this year. Jim Penich with 65 hours, Aaron Krudwig with 61 hours and Scott Ricketts with 45 hours. Here is a picture of those who were able to attend the dinner.

Don’t forget the Potluck Dinner Saturday night at 5:00 pm at the Hill Top Community Building. We will provide hamburgers, hotdogs, and fried fish. Bring a dessert or picnic type side and enjoy a good meal and visit with our First Responders. After dinner they will show off and demonstrate some of the most recent additions to our safety gear and rescue equipment. If you are, or if anyone you know is interested in joining our team of volunteers, please make sure they know about this event. Door prizes will be drawn throughout the evening.

I heard a phrase the other day. “Do you know what’s priceless? A volunteer firefighter that will put $4.99 a gallon fuel in their own vehicle to come to your emergency.”

BUT DID YOU KNOW?

**Hill Top VFD has a team of 17 volunteer Firefighters, including 7 who are trained Emergency Medical Responders.

**During the first 5 months of this year, they responded to 46 emergency incidents. 25 of those were medical, 15 were fire, 3 were motor vehicle accidents ( one of those a fatality) and 3 community safety incidents.

I THINK THE HILL TOP VFD IS PRICELESS!!

Please come to the Community Building on June 27th at 5 pm to share a meal and show your support and appreciation. Fried fish, hamburgers and hotdogs will be provided, just bring a dessert or picnic type side. SEE YOU THERE.

Save the date of June 27th for this Community Cookout. More information will follow in the coming weeks.
