Howdy everyone!

We've made the decision to make getting updates a little easier for you (and us) by moving all future Creekside updates and news to the Harrison Parks and Recreation page.

Creekside IS just the latest development in Parks and Recreation's offerings for you, after all, and if we put ALL our news and updates on one page, you'll be better informed about your many options for fun, fitness, and community that come from us rather than just getting posts about one piece of the big pie that we're offering.

Please, please head over to the Harrison Parks and Recreation page right now and like/follow it, then check in there for the latest updates and explanations about all things Creekside-- and everything else we do. Remember- to keep getting our posts on your feed, like or comment on our posts to show Facebook that you're interested.

We've got a ton of information planned to share there next week after our first week of operation, so don't miss out!

Opening day was one for the history books! We lost count but way over 700 of you graced our doors today— swimming, gaming, golfing, playgrounding (is that a word?), pickleballing, eating cookies, playing basketball, pool, ping pong, shuffleboard, foozball, board games, watching the game, snagging free shirts, and over and over, asking: “how do we get a membership??”

Tomorrow Creekside opens in its true role as a membership facility for our community. Our front desk folk will be thrilled to help you buy a membership; if you got that done on your own at HarrisonParks.com, they’ll set you up with photos, membership cards, and your “proud member” car stickers when you come in for the first time.

Silver Sneakers members- we’re now affiliates! Come one and all!

Renew Active members- we’re still working on affiliation but will try hard to get it completed soon. Hang tight and consider a one month membership or punch card if you just can’t wait.

And if you’re waiting on word from your discount application: we’re a bit backed up (especially after today), but now that we’ve moved and opened there should be more time to move more quickly down the list. We can’t wait to have you here! Check your email occasionally as that’s where news will appear.

Huge thanks to our mostly brand new staff, who had the enormous task of learning new jobs in a new place with all- inexperienced coworkers and a lot of finer details yet to be worked out. We are so proud of you and can’t wait to have you continue to help us make Creekside better and better. Use that suggestion box in the lobby when you spot needs and let’s make this place incredible together.

We’ve been busy getting ready for you!

Will you join us tomorrow at 10am for the Grand Opening?
It’s a new day for Harrison Arkansas!

Notes:
- the pools have occupancy limits. If they get full you may need to wait. Please have patience with our staff if this happens.
- if you want to buy a membership tomorrow, PLEASE do yourself a favor and get yourself an account set up on our website (links in comments). It will save you considerable time on Saturday!
- we have 500 cookies and 100 tshirts and hope you get both— but again, please be understanding if it doesn’t happen. We have no way to know how many people will show!
- no memberships or passes required on Saturday ALL DAY till 9pm! We’ll start that membership stuff on Sunday. (Till at least the end of 2024 we’ll be open 6am to 9pm seven days a week to help us get an idea of when ya’ll want to use CCC. After that, changes could happen.)

Join us Saturday at 10am!

We'll celebrate on the front steps, cut the ribbon (or something like that), and throw open the doors for Harrison and the surrounding community to explore and enjoy its own community center with indoor aquatics for the first time.

Come see what years of wishing, dreaming, planning, voting, saving, and working together tirelessly has wrought. We have a beautiful facility to offer you and a brand new staff (still learning but) excited to serve you.

(And hey-- there'll be 100 free tshirts and a whole bunch more free cookies too, because we're just that excited.)

The floor in the two new gyms is starting to be assembled... and won't it be nice to walk and run this winter on this indoor balcony track?

TWO WEEKS UNTIL GRAND OPENING! (Free to all from 10am till 9pm!)
Will you be there?

(No, these new gyms won't quite be ready by October 12th... we'll all have to share the one gym for a few weeks until they're completely finished and safe to walk on. Not for long, though!)

CFO Luke Feighert and Mayor Jerry Jackson got a bird's eye view from the walking track, of the new floor going on the First Community Bank and Farm Bureau Insurance Boone County courts.

Friday is the last Early Bird night! Come get your Creekside membership set up! 5:30-7:30pm.

It's Thursday! Only two days left of Early Bird membership nights at the Youth Center. If you've been thinking about it, time to get over here and get yourself set up for Creekside fun!

(Next week, we have to train new employees, and pack, and (if the internet and phones get installed) hopefully get ourselves moved into Creekside. We'll reopen signup opportunities if it's doable, but this week is your best chance. Come get your worm while you can!)
