We envision a world where every human being experiences a true sense of belonging. YWCA Hamilton offers permanent supportive housing through the Goodman Place program. We provide Housing First, Trauma Informed Care, Harm Reduction, and Culturally Competent evidenced based supportive services on campus in 45 one bedroom apartments for individuals who have been chronically homeless and have disabilities. YWCA Hamilton offers protective shelter for those escaping domestic We provide Housing First, Trauma Informed Care, Harm Reduction and Culturally Competent evidence based supportive services in 15 one bedroom apartments to help individuals, and their dependents and pets, locate and secure safe affordable housing after shelter. We also provide a 24 Hour Domestic Violence Crisis Hotline. If you, or someone you know, is a victim please call 1-800-618-6523. YWCA Hamilton offers youth programs through social emotional learning called FIERCE Girls and Men of Honor. We provide Trauma Informed Care and Culturally Competent evidence based group discussions and activities. Our trained facilitators use research selected curricula to inspire youth to be fearless, independent, educated, resilient, confident, and engaged while challenging them to become future allies in the movement to end domestic violence.

Today, SB 341, a bill to raise the age of marriage in Ohio to the age of 18, passed unanimously out of the Senate Judiciary Committee!

We know that marriages that begin when one spouse is a child have an elevated risk for physical, sexual, emotional, and financial violence across the duration of their relationship. When the legislature returns in the fall, the bill will need to be voted on by the full Senate and then it will start its process in the House.

Long before her ideas transformed American law, she found a place of community and belonging within our movement. Pauli Murray was a pivotal figure for racial, gender, and social justice, and her foundational work helped shape the YWCA into what it is today.
