It’s a new season and lots of changes!After 22 years of serving, this old lady is retiring on September 1.
Thank you HLWM for the best years of my life and to everyone who served along side us and supported us through the years. To the thousands of children that walked through our doors, you forever changed me. I hope each of you always remember how much you are loved. Keep shining and don’t ever stop talking to Jesus.
Thank you Lord for trusting in me to lead. When I don’t understand or question your plan, you continue to faithfully direct my steps.

As for what’s next? Time…with my children, precious grands, hubby and for me! Lots of trips to the Sunshine State are already on the calendar.

As for the Ministry….its a new season also! Check back this fall, for exciting news.

“Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”
John 7:37-38.

☀️ As our summer program comes to a close, we want to remind everyone that our last day of summer programming is Thursday, July 16!

What an incredible summer it has been! From STEAM projects and crafts to water days, games, and making new friends, we’ve loved spending the summer with each of our students. Thank you to our families, volunteers, donors, and staff for helping make this season so special.

We wish all of our students and families a safe, successful, and fun school year! 📚✏️ We can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll accomplish.

🫧 We’re Ending Summer with a BANG! 🫧

Our final Water Day is going to be extra special with a FOAM PARTY! 🤩

A professional foam service will be joining us to bring the fun with biodegradable, non-toxic, and kid-safe foam for an unforgettable experience! 🫧

💦 Don’t forget to wear your Water Day clothes and come ready to get wet, play, and have a blast! This exciting foam party is in addition to all of our usual Water Day activities, making it the perfect way to celebrate an amazing summer together!

What an awesome day! 🍧🍦

A huge thank you to one of our staff member’s family for treating our students to delicious snow cones and ice cream on Thursday! It was the perfect way to cool off and put smiles on so many faces. We truly appreciate your generosity and for making the day extra sweet!

A huge thank you to Wyatt with Mobile Game Party for spending yesterday afternoon with our 4th grade and up students! 🎮 They had an awesome time competing, laughing, and making great memories. It was the perfect way to reward them for a summer of outstanding behavior and positive choices. We appreciate you helping make their day so special!

A big thank you to Badin seniors Sophia Stitzel, Alyssa Wheeling, and Xavier Wilson for putting together such an awesome Field Day for our kids yesterday as their senior project!

They planned a day full of games, snacks, face painting, T-shirts, and lots of fun. The kids had a blast, and the face painting was definitely a favorite!

Thank you all for spending your time with our students and making it such a fun and memorable day. We appreciate everything you did! 💙

☀️🍫🔥 Solar S’mores STEAM! 🔥🍫☀️

Who knew this summer heat could be used to our advantage? This week, our students put their engineering and problem-solving skills to the test by designing and building their own pizza box solar ovens! Using nothing but the power of the sun during this week’s heat wave, they successfully melted chocolate and marshmallows to create a delicious summer favorite! 🍫

This hands-on STEAM project gave students the opportunity to explore solar energy, heat transfer, engineering, and design while enjoying a sweet reward for their hard work. Learning is always more exciting when you can eat the results! 😋🔬📦

🌊 Water Day Update 🌊

Due to the extreme temperatures, tomorrow’s Water Day has been canceled to keep everyone safe.

But don’t worry… water day will be back on next week and we have something extra special planned for tomorrow instead! 🍿🎬🍬 We can’t wait to surprise everyone with a fun afternoon!

Last week, our students put their creativity, teamwork, and entrepreneurial skills to the test during Market Day! 🎨🛍️

Working together in groups, students brainstormed, designed, and created unique items to “sell” at their very own marketplace. Their booths were filled with handmade clay sculptures, paintings, bracelets, slime, squishies, portable games, trinkets, and so much more!

Market Day gave our students the opportunity to practice collaboration, problem-solving, creativity, and communication all while having a great time. We were so impressed by the imagination and effort that went into every creation.

Way to go, everyone! We can’t wait to see what our young entrepreneurs dream up next! 💙
