United Way of Washington County proudly awards Randolph Community Outreach at Trinity Lutheran Church a Live United Urgent Needs grant of $1,390.36. With these funds, Randolph Community Outreach can now replace the failed compressor in the commercial-grade refrigerator at its Market Place food pantry, which stores perishable foods for distribution. The compressor failed unexpectedly after only four years, despite the refrigerator's anticipated longer lifespan.

Without refrigeration equipment, Randolph Community Outreach lost the ability to provide perishable items to Neighbors shopping in the Pantry Market Place. Because the refrigeration units were relatively new, they did not include this replacement expense in their annual budget.

This grant enables Randolph Community Outreach to continue providing fresh groceries to the 250–300 families it supports each month. United Way remains committed to providing our community with essential food.

This Saturday 9 more volunteers-4 for Washington County and 5 for Frederick County- went through training to become Literacy Council tutors! What a gift! That the day of training in our second floor classrooms finished to sounds of the first floor Randolph Community Outreach food bank working double time to provide groceries to locals in need was a beautiful benediction for the tutors’ departure. Thank you, Trinity Church for making service to your community a priority. We are grateful to literally share space with such dedicated public servants and advocates.
