📊 Washington County Overdose Data | March 2024 – February 2025
According to the Maryland Department of Health’s Overdose Data Portal:

🔴 48 total overdose deaths
💊 41 deaths involved any opioids
⚠️ 30 were related to fentanyl

🧬 Substances involved:

Opioid-related total: 41

Fentanyl: 30

Prescription opioids: 15

Alcohol: 10

📍 Highest overdose death occurrences are concentrated in specific ZIP codes within Washington County.

👥 Disparities by race and s*x:

Male deaths: 34

Female deaths: 14

NH Black males: 11

NH White males: 23

📉 From 2023 to 2024, Washington County saw a 47.3% decrease in total overdose deaths — a significant decline that shows progress, but there is still work to do.

🛑 Every life lost is one too many. Let’s continue to work together to promote harm reduction, support recovery, and save lives.
