Choosing Obedience Over Comfort

It’s easy to look for the "path of least resistance" when life gets uncomfortable. But usually, the biggest blessings in our lives are found on the other side of obedience. When we trust God more than our own plans, we find that His "assignment" for us—even if it’s tough—is exactly where we are meant to be.

Bible Verses:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." — Proverbs 3:5
"...in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." — Proverbs 3:6

Application: Identify one area where you are choosing comfort over calling (a hard conversation, a new responsibility, or a change in habits). Commit to taking one small step toward obedience today.

You Are Never Too Far to Come Back

Sometimes we feel like we need to run away to find peace, but true peace is only found in God’s presence. Even when we try to create our own "exit strategies" to avoid God’s calling, He is already there, waiting with open arms to guide us home. He doesn't want to make life hard; He wants to make it meaningful. You are never too far gone for His grace to reach you!

Bible Verses:
"But Jonah ran away from the Lord..." — Jonah 1:3
"Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?" — Psalm 139:7

Application: Spend 5 minutes today simply sitting in silence. Ask God, "Is there any area of my life where I am running away?" Surrender that fear and ask for His direction instead.

Returning to the Table

Have you been living on the fringes lately? Maybe you’ve been relying on your own strength, or you feel like you’ve wandered away. The beautiful news is that the table is always open. Whether you feel like Peter, who struggled with self-reliance, or you just need to turn back to your first love, Jesus is waiting for you to step back into fellowship.

Verses: "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out." (Acts 3:19)
”Return to me, and I will return to you." (Zechariah 1:3)

Application: If you have been running your own life, turn away from self-reliance today. Confess Jesus as your Lord and Savior, and step back into the comfort of His presence.

A Table of Self-Examination

When Jesus revealed that someone would betray Him, the disciples didn’t point fingers at each other. Instead, they humbly asked, "Lord, is it I?" That is the mark of a true follower. The table of the Lord invites us to be honest about our own hearts, our motives, and whether we are following Him or just going through the motions.

Verses: "They began to question among themselves which of them it might be who would do this." (Luke 22:23) / "Search me, God, and know my heart." (Psalm 139:23)

Application: Take a moment to ask God, "Lord, is my heart truly set on You today?" Invite Him to align your priorities with His.

Creating a "Remembrance Anchor"

It is so easy to let the stress and routine of daily life overshadow the victory of the cross. We drift, we forget, and we get caught up in our own agendas. To stay grounded, we need "remembrance anchors"—intentional moments throughout the day where we stop and center our hearts back on Jesus and His grace.

Verses: “Do this in remembrance of me.” (Luke 22:19) / "Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith." (Hebrews 12:2)

Application: Pick one moment today—perhaps while drinking your morning coffee or waiting at a red light—to simply pause and thank God for the cross.

When you hear "The Last Supper," what image comes to mind? 🎨 For many, it’s Da Vinci’s painting, but the reality of that moment was so much deeper. In our latest Dinner with Jesus series, we explore how Jesus wasn’t just observing an ancient ritual—He was changing the course of history forever. He invites us to move beyond religious routine and into a real, daily relationship with Him. Are you ready to step back to the table?

The Ultimate Sacrifice

We often look for ways to earn our standing with God, but Jesus changed everything by becoming the final sacrifice for us. Through His broken body and shed blood, He paid the debt of our sin in full. We don't need to
perform or strive for perfection; we simply need to accept His grace.

Verses: “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.” (Luke 22:19) / “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29)

Application: Today, stop trying to earn God's love through your performance. Instead, thank Him for the sacrifice that already made you whole.

Jesus Is Never Surprised

Life can feel chaotic, and sometimes we lose our sense of control. But even in the busiest or most uncertain times, Jesus is already there. Just as He gave specific instructions for the Passover meal and everything unfolded with precision, He knows the path ahead of you today. He isn't caught off guard by your circumstances, and He has the strength to carry you through.

Verses: "The Teacher asks: Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples? ... They left and found things just as Jesus had told them." (Luke 22:11, 13)

Application: When you feel anxious about the future, pause and remember: God is fully in control. Take a deep breath and trust that He holds the plan for your life.
