🚨 The Final Countdown: $23K to Go! 🚨

We have some incredible news to share! Our community has been working tirelessly to bring a K-9 unit back to Grosse Pointe Woods, and the finish line is officially in sight.

Our initial startup goal for the program was $120,000, and thanks to your overwhelming generosity, we only need $23,000 more to make this a reality!

Where is the money going?

Every dollar raised goes directly toward ensuring our newest officer, Arcos, and his handler, Officer Duncan Gill, are prepared and protected. This includes:

🚔 A fully outfitted, specialized K-9 vehicle.

🐕 Arcos himself and his intensive professional training.

🛡️ All the essential safety equipment needed to keep Arcos and the community safe.

Arcos and Officer Gill are already making a difference on the streets of Grosse Pointe Woods and the surrounding area. Job well done, Team GPW K-9!!!

🚨 K9 TRACKING LEADS TO ARRESTS 🚨

Outstanding work by K9 Arcos and his handler Officer Gill, whose first tracking deployment resulted in the successful arrest of two suspects involved in a stolen vehicle out of Grosse Pointe Park.

Following a vehicle accident, the suspects fled the scene on foot. K9 Arcos was deployed and quickly established a track, leading officers directly to both individuals. Both suspects were taken into custody without further incident.

This is a great example of the effectiveness of our K9 unit and the dedication of our officers working together to keep our community safe. 👏🐕‍🦺

🐾 ARCOS IS OFFICIAL! 🐾

We are so proud to share this wonderful article from this week’s Grosse Pointe News featuring the official swearing-in of Arcos, the newest member of the Grosse Pointe Woods Public Safety Department!

Arcos took his oath of office alongside his handler, Officer Duncan Gill, during the City Council meeting on January 26th. It was a heartwarming moment for our community as we welcomed this talented K-9 to the force. Arcos is already hard at work helping to keep Grosse Pointe Woods safe!

🚔 New Partner on the Paw-trol!

We are bursting with pride to announce a massive milestone for our community. This coming Monday night, K-9 Officer ARCOS will be officially sworn into service!

After months of intensive training, Arcos has officially graduated and is ready to hit the streets. Watching the bond and the professional strides made by both Arcos and Officer Gill has been incredible, and we couldn't be more excited to see them in action keeping Grosse Pointe Woods and the surrounding area safe. 🛡️🐕

New Year, New K-9! 🎆🐾

2026 is off to a great start in Grosse Pointe Woods! We are counting down the days until Monday, January 26, when Arcos officially joins the force.

Watching the bond between Officer Gill and Arcos has been inspiring, and we can’t wait to see them take their official oath at City Hall. It’s the perfect way to kick off a brand-new year of safety and community spirit!

Arcos has been extra good this year (though he’s still hoping Santa leaves a few extra tennis balls in his stocking). Whether you’re staying cozy at home or traveling to see loved ones, Arcos and Officer Gill wish you a day full of treats and wagging tails.

He’s checked the perimeter twice... 🐾📜

K-9 Arcos is definitely on the Nice List this year! 🎅 Even though the holidays are here, our favorite German Shepherd is still hard at work.

He’s ready to sniff out any Grinches and make sure Grosse Pointe Woods stays safe and bright. Let’s give Arcos a round of "applaws" for being such a good boy this year!

🚨 K-9 ARCOS UPDATE: Training Hard & Almost Ready! 🐾👮‍♂️

Arcos is working hard and keeping his eyes on the prize! 🐕💨

He and his handler, Officer Gill, are continuing their rigorous training, sharpening their skills, and building the bond necessary to keep our community safe. They are getting closer every day to "hitting the streets" of Grosse Pointe Woods together!

The Big Milestone: Next month (January), Arcos will officially be sworn in as a K-9 officer by the Grosse Pointe Woods City Council. It’s going to be a proud moment for all of us to see him join the ranks.

We Need Your Support: To make sure this team hits the ground running at full speed, we need the community to help lift this program off the ground. Your support ensures Arcos has the equipment, training, and care he needs to serve and protect.
