From one church community to another and on to another 🙏🏻💙❄️ How beautiful is our community when they come together to help those in need? The Saint Joan of Arc Youth Group gathered to make blankets last week and we were able to donate them today to .paul_onthe_lake who in turn is taking them to the to help with their temporary cold shelter this week. With the temps dropping to single digits it was even more important than usual to help keep our neighbors warm. Thankful to all the caring people in our lives who continue to think of others. A special thank you to Jill Pietrowsky and Tricia Kestleloot for being shining examples of love and kindness and serving others. They both inspire me and so many.

As Martin Luther King said, “Love is the greatest force in the universe. It is the heartbeat of the moral cosmos. He who loves is a participant in the being of God.”

Let’s all take a moment today and this week to think of our neighbors who need some extra love and warmth and a hot meal. I will be driving down to the Pope Saint Francis Center on Friday with more blankets if anyone wants to drop off anything at my house I can bring with me. Socks, power bars, hats, gloves, sweats, etc are always needed and appreciated. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❄️❄️❄️

Spreading some love and sunshine at Liggett this week! Thank you for the wonderful donation and event to support our mission to help others in SE Michigan! These beautiful blankets made by first graders and their Senior buddies are heading to the Children’s Center of Detroit.

Thank you!! How lucky are we that there are amazing students and teachers in our community who think of others and spread love while enriching their own friendships and connections. Love these pics! Thank you!! ❤️💞💓❤️💞💓

Happy Friday! Thank you to everyone for the completed blanket and new fleece drop offs this week! It means so much, especially at this busy time! These cozy blankets are heading to South HS today for some really great special needs students and we know they will love knowing these were made for them by fellow students and community members. Love that we can spread some love and cozy up their classroom!

Thank you to Student Council President Madison and the GPA Middle School for gathering on a a Friday night to make blankets for our organization. We have been making blankets with some of these kids since they were so little and it means so much to us that they are still thinking of us and taking the time to help others in need. Love them all very much and their big hearts. ❤️
We love our community and are so grateful to all the students who help our organization continue and grow.

Wow wow wow is all I can say! Wow did you all show up!!! We cannot even begin to express how thankful we are! There had to have been over 50 kids and parents there today and it just means so much! These blankets will go to Mott Children’s as well as Motor City Mitten Mission as part of the GPPSS Middle schools Lifeskills incredible effort to feed the homeless for Thanksgiving.

I just want to quickly say that today I was struck by how there are two types of people in this world, the doers who are positive and work so hard to make the world a better place and those that mostly see the negative and are just constant complainers. I am so proud to be surrounded by the doers and I want to say thank you. I see you working so hard, whether it’s by raising your kids to be kind and thoughtful and to think of others, or working so hard as Troop leader, or a PTO parent, the teachers making turkeys for the homeless eventho it is messy and tough, or a Mother’s Club rock star or a working parent who still makes time for their kids and the projects that support their desire to give back. And I also see the student athletes, the compassionate students, the student council leaders and the teens with jobs and responsibilities who also work so hard to make this world better. I am so proud of all of you and I am so grateful we get to live our lives with you. The good in this community far outweighs the bad and I just want to thank you for everything you are doing to make the world better. I know it’s not easy with all the demands placed on us all so it just means so much that you support this charity. Love you all so much.

And a special thank you to for hosting! Best ice cream, hot cocoa and coffee in town with the coziest, most welcoming space. Grosse Pointe Park is a special place!! ❤️❤️❤️

Today was the best!!! Made blankets with 140 Brownell Lifeskills students with the amazing Dr. Barczyk. What incredible blanket making skills these kids had! I am overwhelmed by their abilities! These blankets will be going to Mott Children’s Hospital
Dr. Barczyk is a legend! My niece and nephew and both sons have learned so much from her over the years and spending the day with her I can really see how she makes such an impact on kids. She is brilliant, patient and kind, but also SO MUCH FUN!
Now that my kids know how to sew thanks to her, we may start adding pillows to our projects!

With the snow dusting last evening and the colder temps coming in we took the opportunity to drive down close to 85 blankets to the Pope Francis Warming Center. We love our partnership with this facility because it is so close to home and we know they are serving those in need so close to our community. It is our simple way of sending some love to our neighbors in need. Thank you Sara, Margaret & Jen for coming with me and thank you to all the NHS students and others who continue to make blankets and support us. ❤️❤️
