Since 2
004, the SMSB Football Academy has held camps in Detroit and other locations including Washington, D.C., Tampa, Atlanta, Houston, and Los Angeles. To date, there have been over 13,000 participants and 2,000 participants have received college scholarships, 9 have been drafted to the NFL and nearly 50 have made it to NFL rosters. These are concrete results that athletics, with the combination of academic support, mentoring, and resources, can be a vehicle for improving low academic performance and lead to high school graduation and college scholarships. To deliver its message, SMSB® utilizes NFL Legends and current NFL Players, Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches from top 10 division I, MAC (Mid-American Conference) and division II schools.
