Beginning April 6, Public Works will be placing containers in different neighborhoods each week to give residents an opportunity to do some spring cleaning and dispose of unwanted, hard-to-dispose of bulk items. Containers will be located in each of the City’s solid waste collection zones for one week.
April 13th – 18th, 2026
Bobby Pearse Community Center (street placement)
Gallivan St. & N. Main St (Across from address #13)
Summit Dr. & Reid St. (In front of #633)
Holmes Park (Parking lot)
Spartanburg Street
·Items that CAN go in the containers: furniture, dirt, rock, rubble, brick, blocks, concrete, wooden planks, boards, treated wood, and yard waste greater than 6 feet and 6 inches in diameter.
· Items that CANNOT go in the containers: paint, electronics, household garbage, recyclables, hazardous building material, construction material, and chemicals.
