🎺 The PMTA invites you to nominate collegiate students for the Collegiate Student Recital at the 2026 PMTA Conference, to be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, from 5:15 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Reichgut Concert Hall, Seton Hill University Performing Arts Center at Seton Hill University Greensburg.

The Collegiate Student Recital is open to currently enrolled collegiate students. Nominating teachers must be members of PMTA.

There are no repertoire restrictions.

For consideration, please submit your student's name, instrument, proposed program, short biography, and nominating teacher's name by May 10 to both co-conference chairs: Seulki Yoo ([email protected]) and Jonathan Flowers ([email protected]).

Please also include the name of their college or university.

🎹✨The PMTA invites you to nominate students for the performance class by guest clinician, Brian Ganz. The performance class will take place on Friday afternoon from 3:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., June 12, 2026, at Seton Hill University, Greensburg.

The performance class is open to pre-collegiate and collegiate students. Nominating teachers must be members of PMTA.

For consideration, please submit names, repertoire information, and a short biography by April 30 to both co-conference chairs: Seulki Yoo ([email protected]) and Jonathan Flowers ([email protected]).

For collegiate students, please include the name of their college or university. For pre-collegiate students, please include their current school grade.

🏆First Prize - Young Artist Division

🏆Second Prize - Young Artist Division

The adjudicators for the competition were Ellen Boll and John Vaida.

In addition to cash awards, all winners will be featured in a concert next season on the Friends of Chamber Music in Reading series.

Registration is open for the 2026 PMTA State Conference coming up June 12-14, 2026 at Seton Hill University in Greensburg, PA.

The conference theme is: Rising Together: Building Collaborative Pathways in Music Musicians’ Search for Meaning: Artistry, Connections, and Resilience During Challenging Times.

⌛Reminder: Due March 15! The PMTA Early-Career Fellowship 2026 is a unique opportunity for private music teachers in their first 5 years of post-graduate teaching.

While providing financial startup support, this one-year program includes mentorship placement with an experienced teacher and provides valuable networking and professional development experiences.

⏰Reminder to apply by Saturday, February 14.

🎼There are two application categories, as well as two age categories in the Keystone Chamber Music Competition. For ensembles coached by a PMTA member-teacher, the membership dues must be paid by the application deadline; the entry fee is $100 per ensemble. Non MTNA-PMTA member coaches will be charged a $50 nonmember teacher fee in addition to the $100 ensemble fee.

Age Categories
Pre-College Division: All performers must be between 11 and 19 years of age as of March 8, 2026. No ensemble members may be enrolled in college.

Young Artist Division: All performers must be between 18 and 30 years of age as of March 8, 2026.

PMTA Teachers may enter more than one ensemble in each category, Pre-College and Young Artist Division. PMTA reserves the right to cancel a competition age category if there is insufficient statewide participation in that category.

Application Deadline: February 14, 2026 (Fees must be sent via PayPal by this date)
