🐈💕📖 Join us for a pop-up book club featuring James Herriot’s novel “Cat Stories” on June 26th at 6pm! 📚 “Cat Stories” (description below) can be purchased at any retailer, though we highly recommend supporting local and getting a copy from our friends at Lion's Mouth Bookstore in Green Bay! Local libraries are always an option too!

We do not have copies available at Haven Books, however we do have free photocopies of the first chapter for anyone who wants to participate but cannot obtain a the book. *For photocopies just stop into Haven Books during open hours and ask staff for one!* This casual and cozy book discussion will have additional input from our rescue kitty friends here at the sanctuary, as they will be free-roaming and hanging out! 🐈🐾😺

📖 Book description: Between these covers, teller and tales finally meet in a warm and joyful new collection that will bring delight to the hearts of readers the world over: James Herriot’s Cat Stories. Here are Buster, the kitten who arrived on Christmas; Alfred, the cat at the sweet shop; little Emily, who lived with the gentleman tramp; and Olly and Ginny, the kittens who charmed readers when they first appeared at the Herriots’ house in the worldwide bestseller Every Living Thing. And along with these come others, each story as memorable and heartwarming as the last, each told with that magical blend of gentle wit and human compassion that marks every word from James Herriot’s pen.

Daily Dose of Cuteness!

Provided by: Rhea!

This shy girl has been waiting for a home alongside her roommates Violet, Jordie, and Rayman. She loves lounging around on her trampoline bed with all three of them. Occasionally, you might also see her above the door trying to stay out of sight, or you might see her playing with her roommates. Two of her former roommates, Ramsey and Larson, have already found a home. She hopes she's next. She is slow to trust, but once you've earned it, she'll accept pets and will play with a wand toy.

You still have to move slow in order to earn her trust, but she’s certainly coming out of her shell.
Her ear tip means she used to be an outdoor colony cat, explaining her shyness.
Do you see those eyes! Meewow 😻 They’re gorgeous. 💗

Just a heads up for when you walk into our bookstore, you will probably find yourself looking at an enclosure. It is Levi’s.

He is 7 months old, and he just completed his FIP treatments TODAY! This is a HUGE deal!
On the other hand, he is a little unsure about coming out of his “room”.

He reaaallly likes it in there. When we take him out, he yells at us that he wants back in.

He is a sweet boy. He reaaallly loves your pets and attention and he wants them, but the open space to him is like the wide open sea.

We are open today. 12-4pm
If you wanna push him around the bookstore in the cat stroller, you can talk to the staff and they will give you a hand !

Belvedere, Belle for short, was caught in a trap years back which damaged her jaw. The injury did not heal correctly and now her jaw doesn’t quite line up.
She’s not aware at all, but her tongue now hangs out of her mouth most of the time- which is absolutely adorable. She gives off Old Lady vibes and likes to wear her chic Thundershirt to
help heal her raw skin spots. She is on a prescription diet to help control her skin issues.

This is Lyla.

Lyla was less than a year old when she was hit by a car and left with several broken bones and a severed spine, paralyzing her from the waist down. She then came to us, and her journey on the road to recovery started.

Lyla will never regain use of her back legs, but she doesn’t let that stop her. Through hard work and determination, she’s adapted to her new level of ability. When she’s not in her playpen near the front, you can find her zipping around the sanctuary, her back legs acting more like stilts than legs. She loves demanding treats, playtime, and affection from anyone who’ll give her the time of day.

Because of everything Lyla has been through, she requires much more care than most cats. Lyla needs daily medications, bladder expression, and a special diet to stay healthy. She also requires socks on her back legs to prevent scrapes or scratches from how she has to drag them on the floor to get around. It’s a lot, but she’s worth every bit of it.

Disability should never determine an animal's worth or their right to a good life. However, we can only continue to show up for kitties like Lyla with your support. To help us continue to care for Lyla and all of her friends at the sanctuary, please donate at any of the links below. If donating isn’t possible right now, sharing costs you nothing and makes a huge difference, too.

Lend a helping paw today. Every penny adds up to keep our doors open, allowing us to rescue more and providing us with motivation to keep going. Today is !

✨If you can’t donate, then consider adopting, fostering, or volunteering! 🫶🏼

This GORGEOUS girl came to us as a rescue from a traumatizing home situation. Somi is an abuse survivor.
She had some injuries that took some time to heal.. physically and mentally. She definitely has rebuilt herself in the time she has spent here and is now so ready to meet her forever person. 🥹🥲
