We’re heartbroken and a little fired up to say this, but here it is:
Some folks have been taking stamped Embrace Books and reselling them for profit.

Let’s be real: this isn’t just shady. It’s stealing from a community that gives generously, freely, and with love.

Our volunteers give thousands of hours to sort, clean, stamp, shelve, and hand out these books. They do it so that teachers, parents, caregivers, and curious readers of all ages can walk in and just take a book. No price tags.

So when someone turns around and sells those same books? They’re not just breaking our trust. They’re taking resources from the people who need them most.

We stamp our books with “Free Book – Not for Resale” for a reason. If you see someone selling them, we’d appreciate a quiet heads-up. And if you're reading this and feeling a little squirmy... maybe it's time to do the right thing.

We’re not here to make money off books. We’re here to make sure everyone has access to them. Books build strong communities.

We can't believe we have to say this...

Is by Kevin Powers on your TBR pile yet? It’s on mine!

Published on 06/09/2026 by Harper Books , it’s set in the Virginia mountains and WWI France, following Roy, Samantha, and a wanderer named Ennis, whose lives are completely changed by the weight of war and the choices they make.

It’s a powerful story about deep loyalty, intense friendships, and how the past catches up to us. The writings is supposed to be gorgeous and heavy on raw emotion, so it’s high on my reading list!

by .oliva should be your next read! It’s a moving story bordering on sci fi about a family dealing with the ripple effect of making contact with intelligent life light-years away.
It follows the Girard family across 5 decades as they find hope and footing after things fall apart. It’s heavy at times, but it leaves you feeling peaceful and glad you read it.. I promise!
