The Grand Rapids Police Department says it's investigating a deadly early morning shooting on the city's south side. Officers were called to the scene around 1:40 A.M. Sunday morning near South Division Avenue and Burton Street.

We recently paid out a $2000 reward to the tipster whose tip led to the arrest of wanted suspect Fernando Vasquez-Pena, 23.

He is accused of possession of child sexually abusive material and sexually assaulting at least two people, one of them a woman in her early 70s in March 2025.
