Grafton Lions Community Garden

The Grafton Lions Club invites the community to support the development of the new Grafton Lions Community Garden—a project designed to address food scarcity by providing access to fresh vegetables for residents who may not have gardening space at home. This initiative also supports healthier living by encouraging nutritious diets that can help reduce risks associated with diabetes and obesity.
Located on Cheyenne Avenue, just north of the Grafton Little League Fields, the garden will serve as a welcoming green space and a hands‑on learning environment for residents of all ages. It will be a place where neighbors connect, volunteers make a meaningful difference, and the community comes together to help others.
To bring this vision to life, the Lions are raising funds through a Zeffy Fundraising Campaign, which ensures that 100% of every donation goes directly to the project. Initial startup costs include fencing the garden area, purchasing and installing a storage shed and tools, and acquiring raised‑bed enclosures and soil.
Every contribution—large or small—makes a meaningful impact.
Donations can be made at: http://bit.ly/3LR1xcU
Your support will help turn this vision into a thriving community resource.

Congratulations to four outstanding Grafton High School seniors who were honored with the Grafton Lions Outstanding Citizenship Award at the February 3, 2026 membership dinner held at Bunkers Restaurant at Edgewater Golf Club.
Elizabeth Krol, Natalie Conley, Tyler Heinle, and Isabella Windsor were each recognized for their exceptional character, integrity, and commitment to serving the Grafton community.
These students are actively involved in a wide range of school and community activities, including the Grafton Leo Club, Best Buddies, athletics, Student Council, the Kapco Toy Drive, and various church programs, among many others.

A great service project that is helping citizens of Ozaukee County.

Lions International Week of Hunger occurred the week of January 3rd-11th. As part of this service project, the Grafton Lions and Family Sharing of Ozaukee County worked together on a month-long Hunger Project. Two volunteer areas were Mobile Pantry, where Grafton Lions helped loading food at Family Sharing and delivering the food to distributions centers within Ozaukee County. Grafton Lions also set up Pantry Days, which helped with stocking, prepping produce, arranging bags, and assisting in pantry operations. Volunteers were also needed to sort the hundreds of coats, gloves, socks, hats and other win that were donated over the holidays, These items will be given to clients as well as sold in their thrift store. Picture is Lion Dave Antoine and his wife Nan assisting in the clothing sorting. Thanks to all the Grafton Lions who helped to serve our community.

Joana Hemshemeyer of Family Promise gave a very informative talk to the Grafton Lions Club at their January 20th meeting. Jamie discussed the various programs they offer for needy and homeless families and individuals in Ozaukee County. Since Family Promise opened in 2015, 84% of the people sheltered at Family Promise found permanent housing, Family Promise provided 35,000 nights of shelter and served 1,175 individuals that included over 600 children and 600 plus adults. It was a great presentation and its wonderful that we are lucky to have an organization like this in Ozaukee County.
