Tonight, we light a candle for the babies gone too soon, the families forever changed, and the love that will never fade.

For every mama who has held her baby in her arms and for every mama who carries her baby in her heart. For the birthdays we wish we could celebrate, the milestones we long to witness, and the dreams that will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Your baby matters. Your grief matters. Your love has no timeline.

At Rise With Heart Healing and the Brady Wynn Foundation, we know that the loss of a child changes everything. We carry Brady’s light with us, and we hold space for every family navigating a world that looks different than the one they imagined.

June 1st 2026 I gave birth to two beautiful girls, Houstyn and Haven. Houstyn weighed 5lb5oz and Haven 5lb8oz. Haven is the second born twin and was also born breech. Shortly after delivery she was sent to the NICU due to her breathing. She spent her first day of life in the NICU but was reunited with her sister and I the next day and we all went home together. I was excited to have the girls home and happy for them to meet their big sister, our one year old, Harmany.
The first two weeks were your typical newborn days and nothing stood out as far the girls’ health. The day we left the hospital we were scheduled for an appointment to return for a brain ultrasound to be done for Haven. During my pregnancy when I was around 8 months an ultrasound showed an abnormality in Houstyns Brian so they decided to check Havens as well. An MRI showed that Houstyn was cleared. The day of Havens ultrasound we were told we had to take her up to the ER for her to he admitted because of the results. Her ventricles were swollen in her brain. She did not have a soft spot due to the fact that the fluid in her brain had built up creating pressure causing the ventricles to swell.
In tears we followed the nursing staff to admit my 2 week old baby into Children’s Hospital. I was told shortly after that she would have to have surgery to place a shunt into her head. Her brain was not draining fluid on its own and a shunt was needed to do just that.
After a few days Haven came home. Things seemed to be going well the first couple of weeks post surgery. After a follow up appointment they noticed that the ventricles were now too small and her shunt was adjusted. Things started to change after that appointment. I noticed fluid build up around Havens shunt causing the area to bulge. I contacted the neurosurgery team. After two more ER visits and two more visits with the neurosurgeon it was determined that Havens had to have yet another surgery to replace her shunt because there was no improvement in the fluid buildup- it was actually getting worse.
Devastated, my husband and I consented to the 2nd surgery. Our baby then underwent a second brain surgery at only 1 month old. - Havens super mama ❤️

Well it may have been a rainy day, but that didn’t stop us from having a fantastic day!

It’s a grief burst kind of day. Maybe because life has been so fast lately I haven’t had time to think, until today. This chest stays in Brady’s room, which is now his little brothers room too. I haven’t looked inside box ever. I’ve added to it with all the onesies about being sent from heaven from my big brother but I’ve never gone though it. It feels good and most people were so good to us. Please remember to watch your words. God wanted Brady more than we did? Nahhh that’s just how this lifetime happened.
If love alone could have saved him or kept him here, he’d be here. I know I’ll see him again and for the most part I am a happy person with so much joy in my life. I thank Brady for that joy. It only feels so big because I know how awful I can also feel.

Daisy’s Story 🤍

When Daisy was born, she looked absolutely perfect-but within her first day of life, everything changed. While I was holding her, she suddenly turned blue in my arms. She was rushed to the NICU, where we learned she was having seizures and would be transferred to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.

After countless tests, doctors discovered Daisy had suffered a severe brain bleed. Even today, we still don’t know why it happened. We spent nearly three weeks in the NICU, celebrating every tiny victory until we were finally able to bring our sweet girl home.

Today, Daisy is almost 6 months old. She is the happiest little girl with the biggest smile. She is starting PT, OT, and developmental therapy as she continues to work through challenges with her motor skills and vision. She is so strong, determined, and inspires us every single day.

Our family’s journey has looked very different than we ever imagined, but we’re so grateful for the incredible care Daisy received at Vanderbilt and for the Brady Wynn Foundation. Their generosity has helped lift a weight off our shoulders during one of the hardest seasons of our lives.

Thank you for believing in Daisy and helping our family. We know she has an amazing future ahead of her.
