“While working alongside Wash For Life, our group spent time at a local orphanage and several local schools, where we taught the children languages, geography, and general trivia. It was incredibly tough and humbling to see the reality of their daily learning environment-often walking into a classroom crammed with more than 100 kids, completely lacking basic furniture like desks or chairs. Yet, despite having so little, the children brought an overwhelming amount of joy, energy, and an absolute appetite for learning.”

As drilling season has arrived, here is a bit about what a borehole is:

- a narrow, deep well drilled deep into the Earth

- it taps into naturally filtered, pristine underground aquifers

- it is sealed off from surface contamination

- it is fitted with a heavy-duty hand pump or solar-powered system

- it delivers a safe, year-round water supply even during severe droughts

- underground water sources are protected from surface runoff and environmental pollutants

- a single borehole can safely serve an entire village of thousands for decades

“Through my time in Malawi, “the warm heart of Africa”, God showed me his gentle & lowly heart for me as one of his children. He’s invited me to experience the joy I can find only in his presence. I found so much joy on this trip, simply acknowledging the reality that I am his child. Being with these kids really made me feel like I was a kid again.”

“Africa taught me that what generates deep abundance and reverence has nothing to do with our Western ideals and pursuits.
In the face of objective and traumatic scarcity most of us will never experience personally, in areas where even the most basic human survival needs we associate as givens are so very far from given, the most fundamental and precious aspects of the human experience exist: the capacity for joy, laughter, connection, community, empathy, resilience, and love. But it does not merely exist. It thrives.”
