We have been contacted by a couple that would like to rehome their ginger girl due to having to move because of their health issues. From what we've learned, she was a neighbor's cat who wasn't fond of their two year old. Because of that, she was put in a cage and eventually surrendered to the Humane Society, where she was not doing well. Upon hearing this, they adopted her and gave her a nice quiet life for the the past two years. She is not much of a lap cat, but will snuggle up next to them. She does not like to be held or confined in any way. She would need a nice quiet home to live out the rest of her days. They don't want to put her through the trauma of being in a cage or back at the Humane Society if they can avoid it. She is approximately 5 years old, up-to-date on shots, spayed and microchipped. They would gladly give the person to take her all of the things needed: toys, litter box, scratching posts, food, Churus, etc. If you, or anyone you know, would be interested in adopting Emily, please let us know and we will give you their contact information.
This is the information we received from them:
Emily is a sweet five year old orange tabby. She's a big gentle kitty. She loves head pets and chin scritches. She loves to perch on the window ledge and to nap on her favorite chair. She will lie down near her favorite humans and purr up a storm. She likes to nibble kibble and she adores licking creamy Churu treats. When she's in a playful mood, she will prance around the house on her tiptoes with her tail bushed out like a Halloween cat. She speaks in tiny little kitten-like mews. She also makes adorable, quirky grunts like a contented piglet. Emily has no health or behavior problems. She's always been an indoor cat.
After hearing about her, we adopted her about two years ago. She was terrified at a shelter and was at risk of being put down. Once in a quiet home again, she really blossomed. We hoped to keep her forever, but circumstances change. We will be moving to a retirement community and need to find her a new home. Please help us save her from winding up in a shelter again.
