🎾⛳🥎 HELP US WELCOME OUR WAYNE COUNTY ATHLETES! 💙💛

Our Wayne County Special Olympics pickleball, golf, and bocce teams are heading to Charlotte for the Fall Tournament the second weekend of November! We are so excited for our athletes to compete, make memories, and represent Wayne County! 🏆

We’re looking for a kind-hearted individual or group who would be willing to help us put together 14 goodie bags to welcome our athletes to the venue! 🎁💙 A little surprise can go a long way in making our athletes feel special and showing them how much their community supports them.

✨ Need some ideas for what to include?
🎾 Small sports-themed goodies
🍬 Candy or individually wrapped treats
🍿 Snacks like chips, crackers, or granola bars
💧 Bottled water or drink packets
💙 Stickers
📝 Encouraging notes or good luck cards
🧦 Fun socks, keychains, or other small gifts

You can get creative! The goal is to make our athletes feel welcomed, encouraged, and celebrated as they head into tournament weekend. Every little bit of kindness makes a difference! 🥰

Special Olympics Wayne County will be at the Odom Farm Harvest Fest this Sunday, October 18, and we are looking for volunteers and athletes to help us make it a great day!🎃

We will have a booth set up with Special Olympics merchandise, free handouts, information about our program, and opportunities to connect with our community. Most importantly, all merchandise sales go directly toward supporting our athletes and their participation in Special Olympics Wayne County!

Our athletes participate at no cost to themselves or their families, so every shirt and pin sold helps us continue providing these opportunities.

We would especially love to have our athletes come out and volunteer! This is a great opportunity to represent our program, meet people in the community, help spread awareness, and be part of raising funds for the sports and activities they love. ❤️

Volunteer Shifts:
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
12:00 PM – 2:00 PM
2:00 PM – 4:00 PM

You do not have to commit to the entire event! Even helping for a couple of hours would make a huge difference. We would love to have a variety of athletes, families, and volunteers stop by throughout the day.
Please reach out as soon as possible to let us know which volunteer shift you would like to sign up for!

We are hoping to fill our time slots as soon as possible, so please reply to this email with your preferred shift and let us know if you or your athlete can help.

At Wayne County Special Olympics, we believe every athlete deserves the opportunity to participate, compete, grow, and be celebrated for who they are. Our athletes continue to remind us that abilities are endless when we focus on inclusion, opportunity, and support. 🏅✨
