💙💛 A HUGE Thank You to Staff Sergeant Berberich from Seymour Johnson!💛💙

Special Olympics Wayne County would like to send a heartfelt THANK YOU to Staff Sergeant Berberich for coming out and helping us make some much-needed repairs and adaptations to our bocce courts! 🥰

One of our boards was completely rotted and needed to be replaced. We also needed an adaptation to one side of one of our courts to make it more wheelchair accessible. Thanks to Staff Sergeant Berberich, our athletes can now simply pull the rope to lift the board, making it much easier for our wheelchair athletes to access the court! ♿️💙

These improvements may seem simple, but they make a BIG difference in making sure every athlete has the opportunity to participate, compete, and enjoy the sport they love. 🏆❤️

We are so grateful for your time, hard work, and willingness to help make our courts more accessible for all of our athletes!

We’re excited to invite our community athletes to join us for a fun day of bowling, competition, and celebration! 🏆❤️

Any athlete with an intellectual disability is welcome to participate, and we encourage group homes to join us too! Gather your athlete’s bowling score and complete the registration form below.

This past week was an incredibly heartwarming one for Special Olympics Wayne County!

Our Special Olympics Wayne County Coordinator, Taylor Berberich, had the pleasure of accepting a generous check on behalf of our athletes from the wonderful Miss Lovelies Pageant in Goldsboro, NC. 👑💗

This beautiful pageant celebrates and empowers girls and women with special needs, creating an incredible experience filled with confidence, joy, inclusion, and community.

We are so grateful that the Miss Lovelies family chose to support our Special Olympics athletes through this amazing event. Your generosity will help provide opportunities and experiences for our athletes to train, compete, grow, and shine. 🏅❤️

A huge thank you to everyone involved in making this pageant so special—from the organizers and participants to the families, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who helped make this donation possible.

Our Special Olympics Wayne County equestrian athletes are getting ready to hit the road on September 25th for the 2026 Special Olympics Equestrian Tournamentat the Tryon International Equestrian Center in Mill Spring, NC! 🎉

Our athletes and coaches will be traveling, competing, and cheering each other on throughout the weekend — and we want to make sure they have plenty of snacks and drinks to keep them fueled! 💪❤️

We are looking for a local business, organization, or individual who would be willing to sponsor or donate snacks and drinks for our team to take with us.

Our Special Olympics Wayne County Pickleball season has officially started — but we’re practicing without a coach! 😬

We are looking for an amazing volunteer who loves pickleball and wants to make a difference in the lives of our athletes. ❤️

This is an incredible opportunity to help our athletes learn, grow, compete, and most importantly, HAVE FUN! Our season includes 8 weeks of practice and one weekend of competition, and we need someone who can step up and lead our team.

🎾 Pickleball is here in Wayne County!🏓

Today was a BIG day for Special Olympics Wayne County — our very first pickleball practice! Ryan, one of our athletes, and his Unified Partner, Ben, took to the courts and had a great time getting started.

Pickleball is a brand-new sport for Special Olympics North Carolina, and we are SO excited to have the opportunity to bring it to Wayne County! 💙💛

Now, we need YOU! 🙌

We are looking for a coach who is willing to work with Ryan and Ben once a week for 8 weeks and accompany them to the Special Olympics North Carolina State Games in November.
