On October 30, Campbell Clinic Foundation welcomed 100 students from Houston, Germantown, Cordova, White Station and Ridgeway high schools for our fourth annual Orthopaedic Exploration Day!

Students explored anatomy and orthopaedic injuries, tried instruments typically found in operating rooms, and connected with professionals who help people move and live better.

We’re grateful to Arthrex, OrthoPediatrics, Skeletal Dynamics, Zimmer Biomet and Smith+Nephew, along with Campbell Clinic’s Primary Care Sports Medicine and Physical Therapy teams, for bringing orthopaedics to life through hands-on demonstrations.

BRIDGES USA provided the perfect setting for a day devoted to building bridges among students, mentors and orthopaedic professionals—and opening doors to careers in healthcare.

🎃👻 Things got a little spooky at today’s Friday Afternoon Meeting (FAM)!

October’s FAM theme was all tricks, treats, and a few familiar faces looking a little less familiar!

Our current residents took on the ultimate Halloween challenge: identifying Campbell Clinic residency alumni (former residents) who returned looking frightfully different in our “Dearly Departed Alumni” guessing game.

Between the haunting transformations, friendly competition, delicious food, and sweet treats, it was a frightfully fun afternoon (to learn about orthopaedics, of course).

From Campbell Clinic visiting fellow in 1996 to internationally renowned orthopaedic surgeon, researcher and educator—what an honor to welcome back Dr. Martin McNally!

Following last week’s OTA Meeting in Nashville, the Campbell Clinic Foundation was proud to host Dr. McNally of Oxford University, England, a leading expert in osteomyelitis, as part of his tour of standout orthopaedic programs across the United States.

The tour, evening lecture and morning traumatology conference gave dozens of our staff and residents the opportunity to learn from his expertise and leave inspired.

Thank you, Dr. McNally, for sharing your knowledge and passion, and thank you to BONESUPPORT for making this special visit possible!

The Friday Afternoon Meeting (FAM) Campbell Clinic Café was back for our final September FAM on Sept 25 as we celebrated National Coffee Day a little early! Residents and faculty enjoyed coffee, café bites, and a chance to put their guessing skills to the test with our “How Many Coffee Beans Are in the Jar?” challenge.

Congratulations to our winners!
🥇 Stefan Hanish — 2,700 beans
🥈 Ryan Avidano — 2,150 beans

The jar held approximately 2,800 coffee beans, making Stefan our closest guess!

Another great Friday spent connecting with the FAM over good food, coffee, and a little friendly competition. ☕

🇺🇸This week: The AAOS National Orthopaedic Leadership Committee was in this week, representing the interests of patients and education. This annual meeting at the Capitol demonstrates how important physicians’ participation in public policy is to healthcare quality and access.
