Thank you to WREG Channel 3 and the “Girl, Let’s Talk” team for meeting with Leighanne to discuss the latest American Cancer Society colorectal cancer screening guidelines and the importance of prevention and early detection.

Colorectal cancer is one of the leading causes of cancer-related deaths, but it is also one of the most preventable cancers when it’s found early. The latest guidelines continue to recommend screening starting at age 45 for adults at average risk and now include additional screening options, including an FDA approved blood test called SHIELD.

Talk to your doctor about which screening option is right for you. Getting screened could save your life.
