We’ve LOVED celebrating World Polio Day, also known as Purple Pinkie Day! Rotary International has partnered with Dunkin' and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to raise money and awareness for End Polio Now! Our philanthropic initiative to eradicate polio started in 1979 when there were hundreds of thousands of polio cases in 125 countries. Now, 42 years later, we are proud to say that there are only 2 known cases of polio remaining! We’ve come a long way over the years, and are thrilled to continue the efforts so that polio will be permanently eradicated in the near future!

Pictured below is our Membership Chairman, Karen Magness, making one of many donut deliveries today to our friends at the BARTLETT POLICE DEPARTMENT!

Special thanks to Congressman David Kustoff for joining us today! We enjoyed hosting him, hearing about his new bipartisan ‘Do Not Call’ Bill which should reduce the number of annoying and intrusive Robo calls, and engaging in a healthy discussion about the future of political parties.

We had a great group of rotarians and guests in attendance at The Village at Germantown. Join us next week on Wednesday, August 11th at noon for another great mid week meal!
