Here are a few important deadlines right around the corner:

If you have a middle or high schooler in your life, let them know the Voice of Democracy and Patriot’s Pen essay entries are due to a participating VFW Post on Oct. 31.

Student veterans interested in applying for the VFW’s “Sport Clips Help A Hero Scholarship” for the Spring 2027 semester must have their application in by Nov. 15.

Do you know a teacher who proudly promotes civic responsibility, flag etiquette and patriotism in their classroom? Nominate them by Oct. 15 for the VFW’s Teacher of the Year Award.

Know someone who could benefit from one of these opportunities? Forward this email to a fellow veteran, teacher, student or family member. A quick share could help someone earn a scholarship or get the recognition they deserve.

You gotta be in it to win it!!! Come and spend time with friends and family!
