On behalf of Homentmen Fresno Sassoon Chapter and our extended Homentmen family, we congratulate Y. Manoug Kasparian as the year’s Sassoon Chapter “Service Award” recipient.
Y. Manoug will be recognized for his service along side other distinguished members from chapters across Homenetmen USA Western Region on Friday, November 13 in Burbank.
Manoug Kasparian was born in Beirut, Lebanon, in 1959. He spent his childhood in Anjar, Lebanon, where he attended an Armenian Evangelical school and grew up surrounded by his Armenian heritage and community.
At the age of 18, Manoug immigrated to the United States, initially settling in New York for one year before moving to Los Angeles, California. There, he proudly served four years in the United States Marine Corps.
In 1986, Manoug met his wife, Maral Kasparian, at the Navasartian Games in Los Angeles. Their meeting at an event that brought together members of the Armenian community marked the beginning of a lifelong partnership rooted in family and Armenian heritage.
After their marriage and the birth of their oldest daughter, Taline, Manoug and Maral moved to Fresno, California, in 1988. They later welcomed two more daughters, Tania and Ani, completing their family of five.
For more than 30 years, Manoug has dedicated his time and service to Homenetmen. Throughout the years, he has volunteered in various capacities through the Varchoutyoun and Khoroort committees. His contributions have included volunteering at Scout camps and serving at the annual Fresno Games. Through his continued involvement, Manoug has helped support Homenetmen’s mission of fostering leadership, teamwork, sportsmanship, scouting, and a strong connection to Armenian heritage among younger generations.
Today, Manoug is proud to share his life with his wife, three daughters, three sons-in-law, and six grandchildren: Levon, Lea, Sareen, John, Mia, and Elle. His family is honored to celebrate his many years of dedication to Homenetmen and the Armenian community, recognizing a legacy of service that has touched not only his community but also the lives of generations within his own family.
