This past Memorial Day Weekend, the Civic Education Center proudly hosted our very first Intergenerational America250 Dialogue — and what took place in that room was powerful. 🇺🇸✨

Students and adults came together not just to talk, but to truly listen, learn, and connect across generations. Our youth felt seen, heard, and valued as they shared their ideas, perspectives, and hopes for the future of America.

One Rotarian shared:
“Saturday’s 250 Dialogue was a revelation. Open expression and dialogue essentially makes it all happen. Everyone there was relaxed and open to sharing what was personal to them, both the adults and the students present.”

Another reflected:
“I’ve been a loyalist of CEC for many years, and Saturday’s 250 Dialogue was evidence to me that what CEC is doing is RIGHT ON!”

This is what civic engagement looks like.
This is what community looks like.
This is what happens when generations come together with purpose. ❤️

Thank you to every student, educator, community leader, Rotarian, and supporter who made this meaningful experience possible. The conversations sparked this weekend are only the beginning.

📊 Math is more than numbers — it’s a tool for real community impact.
At the Civic Education Center, we believe students should see how classroom learning connects directly to the world around them. From analyzing housing trends and environmental data to solving real community challenges through Algebra and Statistics, math classrooms can become powerful spaces for leadership, problem-solving, and civic engagement.
Through civic-based learning, students are not only strengthening academic skills — they’re building confidence, using their voice, and working toward earning the California State Seal of Civic Engagement.
The future belongs to students who can think critically, analyze information, collaborate, and create solutions that matter. And yes… math can help lead the way. ✨
Let’s transform education from memorization to meaningful impact.

Yesterday, our youth didn’t just show up… they showed OUT. 🔥

At the Fresno County Youth Showcase, students took the main stage and boldly presented civic learning projects rooted in real issues that impact their lives and communities. From domestic violence care packages, food insecurity solutions, pesticide awareness, community health fairs, light pollution, Tigers for Naxo, violence awareness days, to feminine healthcare advocacy—these young leaders proved that their voices are not only powerful, but necessary.

This is what civic engagement looks like.
This is what the future looks like.

Our Central Valley youth exemplified what it means to turn passion into purpose and ideas into action. 👏🏾

We are beyond proud of every student who dedicated themselves all year to this work. Your courage, commitment, and leadership did not go unnoticed.

A heartfelt thank you to all participating schools—Edison, Sanger, Farber, Hoover, Quail Lake, Fowler, and more—for pouring into these students and supporting their growth.

And to our incredible community partners, sponsors, and supporters—this moment would not exist without you. Special thank you to our keynote speaker Dr. Michele Cantwell-Copher for your powerful words, and to our generous sponsors Bonner Family Foundation, Shinnyo-en Foundation and Teichert Foundation for believing in and investing in our youth.

Civic education matters.
Youth voice matters.
Your support matters.

If you believe in empowering the next generation of leaders, now is the time to stand with us. Donate. Partner. Get involved. Let’s keep this work going. 💛

Today’s Central Valley Health Youth Corps Final Presentations at Fresno City College were nothing short of powerful.

These students showed up with purpose, presenting impactful research, sharing why these issues matter to them, and outlining real civic action steps to address challenges in their communities. From anti-vaping advocacy to food disparities, teen alcohol abuse, and the health and safety needs of migrant farm workers—these young leaders are not just learning… they’re leading change.

This is what civic engagement looks like. This is what the future sounds like.

Want to see more of the incredible work happening across the Central Valley? Join us at the Fresno County Youth Showcase next Tuesday, April 28th from 4:30 PM – 6:30 PM. You don’t want to miss it.

Democracy in action starts with youth voices. 🥳

Our Youth Ambassadors and Youth Council are hard at work planning the next civic engagement event, preparing for the Fresno County Youth Showcase on April 28, and already thinking about what comes next. Even during a quick lunch break, the ideas keep flowing—because when passionate young leaders come together, every moment becomes an opportunity to build something bigger.

Bringing youth voices together to talk about the issues affecting their communities and the world around them is powerful. This is how leadership grows and how change begins.

Teamwork makes the dream work, and every voice matters. We’re creating space for young people to connect, lead, and turn their ideas into action.

Join us at our monthly meetings and find out how you can get involved. Are you ready to use your voice?
